We want teams to take Midrange. Because it’s the most inefficient shot in the game. If they make 60% of them then we get beat. But 95% of the time they wont

It’s a tough pill to swallow. Thought we should have pressed more when we went up in the second half. SDSU looked awkward trying to run with us.when we went back to half court D, they settled back down to their comfort pace and methodically beat us.
I hope we keep CNO and his style versus prison ball. We could use a taller guard or two…, or maybe permission to shoot a 4-6 footer when the other team is packing your rim attacks.
I hope Bradley stays and works on his shooting.
Unhappy with the officiating. But realize if we hit just 25% of threes, we advance.
Great season for the program.

What topic? You suck and all the ones who don’t watch all season and then jump in here and start criticizing like they have can GTFO.

Right, the offense is what Oats wants to do. I feel like a pull-up jumper was the answer to what they were doing because our guards are not physical enough at the rim to spam FTAs.

That’s March. Hell, we could be a six seed next year and make the Final Four. It sucks but Oats is a good coach who’s turned this into a pretty damn good program. He’s still learning. I thought he got outcoached tonight. And the two assistant hires will be huge. I know this sucks but the future of Bama basketball is bright.

This team lost because they weren’t physical enough. Point blank period.

They're letting these covid year/5th year guys play prison ball out there.

Can’t lie
If Bradley doesn’t develop some kind of a jumpshot and finish at the rim at a higher clip
I don’t see a consistent role for him on this team. Obviously he’s a freshman but he has some big time offensive limitations it feels like as the year went on and teams figured him out

We weren't able to play physical, our two best players, Miller and Clowney were in foul trouble early which made them tenative.

Y’all remember the way Avery Jr would back into the corner between the sideline and halfcourt line every time he crossed midcourt? Like some weird tick? Anyways, there’s a lot to like about Bama basketball these days. Bigger stakes is bigger heartbreak tho

At that time everyone is this thread said, “I’m not asking for much. I just want consistent tournament appearances.”
That sentiment changed quickly.

They let a guy literally lower his shoulder and floor Clowney.

If we're not going to shoot mid-range pull-up jumpers to keep defenders honest,
That's a good point. I'm not sure we even attempted any mid-range jumpers the entire game. The offense was just sloppy and out of sync. The difference between how sdsu ran their offense and how we ran ours was pretty glaring. They were fairly fluid even when we were playing good d, and we seemed to be playing street ball most of the game.

Only good part of this loss is all the brain dead fricks who didn’t even know basketball existed until 2 weeks ago will leave the thread and those of us who actually care can get back to good discussion
Friend, I’m likely older than you and have been going to Coleman since the late 70s. I was there when we beat #3 Kentucky in 1983 AND 1984. I’ve invested 50 years in pulling for ALL Bama sports teams. I’ve been to track meets at Sam Bailey Stadium. Have you? That’s what I thought. We just got our asses run out of the gym with our best team ever. Discuss that.

Things were pretty messed up when they called three straight fouls on us on three straight plays in one possession. From there it just kept getting worse.

I’m not saying take 18 foot jumpers but floaters or a 8 to 10 foot jumper should be acceptable. It makes you have to defend the whole floor. Teams only have to defend the three point line and the rim on us. That’s idiotic and we’ll never make the final four with that mindset. Teams are too talented and coaches are too crafty to let that beat them in the tournament. Watch UConn play and that will show you what wins in March.

Riley Norris would have made the shots when they counted tonight. We don’t have a Riley Norris.
Think you’re getting Riley Norris and Robert Horry confused. They look alike, so it’s easy to do.
