I'll never hold any ill will towards Avery. Good guy but just wasn't a great fit for what we needed. I'll never forget the 2017 season. A lot of ups and downs but beating Auburn 2 out of 3 and embarrassing them in the SEC tourney will always be a fond memory.

Also the game winner by Sexton over the Aggies. The lone tourney win over Va Tech was an awesome game as well.

Also will never forget that weird conflicted feeling watching the Norfolk State game in Coleman and outwardly cheering for Bama but inwardly fist-pumping for Norfolk State knowing what a loss potentially meant for the program.

On paper is SDSU the best team Bama would play until the championship game?

I think Creighton is better, and probably a tougher matchup for us because they can actually score.

Those guys are playing against individuals, not a casino that is bankrolled with tens of millions of dollars. The minute they catch you do things to beat them, eg, card counting or getter extra inside information casinos and bookies send you packing.

Bottom line is that nobody wins in gambling except the casinos.

Yea also you do have to give credit to Avery for leaving the cupboard full. Herb, Petty, Reese and Kira were studs. Shackleford was pretty solid for us as well.

Underrated response. But I don't think commander data's gonna be hurting too bad if he loses his initial $10 investment

Creighton is a really good, well-rounded team and were my sleeper pick before the brackets were released. I would complain about them being in our region but our pathway shaped up nicely so I'm not going to act spoiled with how things are going.

They have an amazing starting 5, anyone can go off per night, they've had 30+ scoring performances by a different player in each of their first two games. They're well-coached, have size inside, can shoot it, and they're pretty adaptable to whatever a team can throw in their direction, which means you have to adjust to their in-game adjustments.

However, their downfall is their bench. Because they really don't have one and because of that they don't foul. If Bama can get them in some sort of foul trouble, we can take advantage and pull away. They went on a six game losing streak earlier this year because they had 1-2 players out at once, that's how bad their depth has been this season. Attack inside, draw contact, and make them go to their bench early and we should be fine. Depth isn't as big of a deal in March (unless dealing with injuries) but in this case, it's absolutely valuable we can throw 9-10 bodies on the court and not miss much of a beat and they can throw 6 guys on the court.

Our additional benefit is turnaround time. It's going to be difficult for them to get 1 day of preparation against our style of play and if Princeton can rough them up on the boards at least and make them push for 40 minutes, they'll have some tired legs too.

He was talking about playing on draftkings. It's not a casino. It's a fantasy sports site.

Very good points. If they can’t afford to be physical around the rim then we should destroy them inside.

I learned my gambling lesson in college when $500 becomes $13,000 only to fall to -$3,000. I knew I had a problem when my new wife looks at me and says “why are you so upset, you don’t even like these teams.” That was after losing $5k on an NFL game on a back door cover with like 20 seconds left.

I get why you’re trying to warn him, but that felt pretty over the top. Maybe a “don’t want to tell you what to do, but would encourage you to keep it small dollars for entertainment and never view it as a way to make money. People have gotten into bad places with gambling.” Even then, advice is best given when requested…otherwise, it can actually have the opposite effect.

The principle is the same. Draft kings uses the same tried and true tactics as the casinos. They utilize ann extensive bankroll to outlast the gambler in odds. They also count on many of the same psychological tricks to hook people in.

There have already been investigative stories that highlight the huge destruction that the online gambling industry is doing as well as their connections to politicians on the state and National levels who are taking in money from industry bribes.

It is without a doubt the next opioid crises.
