Joka, I’m worried about Chuck.

He has gotta get some more dawg in him, Joka. He doesn’t go up strong enough on the offensive end

I suppose. They really haven't played anyone, but they've won every game by 20 or more points, which is impressive.

I just read their message board. They think they would win in a rematch. They are divided on whether Miller is a lottery pick.

OK I can see where they'd feel optimism about a re-match (maybe they are healthier, maybe they shoot better, maybe we play like shite) but this here is just fricking stupid even if you're butthurt after a loss. If the draft were next week he might go 2nd overall.

I'm irrationally confident in this team given the way Miller looks and the way they stay consistently locked in on defense. When we finished the first half with a 5-pt lead, I had zero doubt that we'd win this game. MSU had a crazy FT advantage and they were hitting some very high difficulty shots, both of which were unsustainable with the way we play defense and live in the paint on offense.

I’m sure it got praised in this thread, but how about Gurley calmly knocking down 4 straight free throws to essentially ice the game? Big time stuff right there.

These are the teams I like to face. Give me them coming in with no experience of what a competitive team looks like.

I hope I can get that confidence one day. Even with a double digit lead, I was begging for the clock to evaporate

Outside of some poor outside shots, Gurley stepped up and played well. Good to see.

We needed to do a little better job getting Miller the ball in a scoring position in the second half. We could have off ball screened for him but Oats doesn't use it very much. When Miller handled the ball on the perimeter, we used a ball screen but they hedged the ball screen and we didn't handle it as well as we should. If they are hedging, the screener needs to fake the screen and basket cut early. If he doesn't get the pass, he needs to off ball screen away from dribbler.

Calm down mistaken....

He's going to improve on that.

Didn't I tell you that we will not be denied?

Also can’t say enough about the job both Noahs did defensively against Hauser. That guy never had a prayer at getting an uncontested look from 3.

UCONN made it to this round by beating an Oregon squad that lost to UC Irvine by 13. I don’t think we should be intimidated.

He had a flop with 3 minutes left in the game that was sort of baffling. Wasn’t even upset that they called it a block.

It was the type of thing a little guard tries to pull off if they get stuck in the post versus a big man.

I’d say the free throw/foul discrepancy in the first half got us a little timid around the rim. There were some other issues but that really disrupted our aggressiveness in rebounding.

The amount of over-the-back calls we received versus the blatant shoving for position MSU was doing all game had me hot. We're probably not the rebounding team we have been, but we were getting hosed by the whistle on rebounds.

Also that blocking call late on Bediako was the worst call I've ever seen. He had his feet set for seconds waiting for the shoulder shove, which this time was combo'd with arm extension. The POS then proceeded to stomp on Bediako's ankle.

That BS flopping call early in the game let me know every thing I needed about those refs. But… we fricking won by double digits.

I did as well...we are to long on the defensive side.

If we would of put JQ back in early when they had that little mini run then we would of won by 15 or more.

Yep. They were letting those dudes push, pull, and hook all night to get into position, then blowing the whistle whenever there was contact going up for the rebound. It was ridiculous.

I'd love to hear that ref justify that call. Like, even if you think he may have sold the contact there was waaaaaay too much contact there to call a dude for a fricking flop. He had a shoulder thrown into his chest.

You could hear Clowney fussing with the refs saying that he's being pushed in the back every single time in the back lol.
