Yeah, Twitter and reddit figs are claiming he's in custody of San Antonio PD. Why the hell would he ha e released this statement to reporters if that was the case. He no doubt has an agent.

It could be anything but this is how society operates.
One thing I know that spreads quicker than a wildfire...LIES & NEGATIVITY
PEOPLE LOVE IT!
They want wait to see what's going on but instead they rather add gas to the fire.

Why wouldn't he, especially if what's about to come out is very ugly?

I agree. Let the situation develop before attacking one’s character to the highest degree.

If he is charged with a serious crime his agent would have gotten him a lawyer. His lawyer would not have allowed him to make a statement like that if he was charged with a serious crime. So the big rumor out there just doesn't make any sense to me.

I'm sure the murder rumors are BS. I think we can all guess what sort of charges are probably coming though. If it wasn't bad, the Spurs wouldn't have scrubbed him from everything.

It has to be pretty bad for the Spurs just to release him on the spot like that.

Having just now read up on this situation, I have some doubts that it's something he has been or is about to be arrested over. I've seen where people are saying that they did this after 5 on a Friday because court documents aren't accessible over the weekend, but I'm not really buying that. That's not something you're going to keep a lid on for 48+ hours. Too many people involved in the entire process for not a single one to make a call to TMZ. And in any event, if he's facing criminal allegations I just don't see an attorney letting him release a statement that gets that close to acknowledging wrongdoing and will 100% be used against him by the government.
IMO he pulled a Deshaun Watson on a member of the training staff and this is the price to keep it under wraps, or he bet on games. If it was purely a mental health problem they aren't outright releasing him. I don't even think they'd be this quick to cut him loose with a criminal charge if my above statement is totally wrong and that's actually what it is. It had to be something internal.

With the "past trauma" thing, it makes me think he got mixed up in some sort of a sting scandal. Hope I'm very wrong with that first impression, but "past trauma" can be sort of a go-to for people involved in that kind of stuff.

Any students that post on here going to the game today?

That was my initial reaction too, but the statement he released comes a lot closer to an acknowledgement of guilt or responsibility than any attorney is going to willingly let him make if he's facing those kind of criminal charges. The whole thing is just kind of odd. TMZ has turned getting the scoop on this kind of stuff into an art though, and they still haven't released anything. That's a big reason I think it's something internal that only a handful of top execs even know the full story on. If it's something criminal there are literally dozens, possibly hundreds, of people who could and would sell them info.

I have no idea what the news about Primo is going to be, but it has to be pretty bad imo. Player's aren't getting waived for mental health issues in 2022. And certainly not from an organization like the Spurs and Gregg Popovich.
Teams don't just dump a 19 year old lottery pick with his talent level. They just exercised his third year option a couple weeks ago and now they aren't even selling his jersey's anywhere anymore.
He didn't play against the Bulls last night and the Spurs had him listed as out due to left glute soreness which sounds like bs now.
Primo always seemed like a really great kid in every interview i've ever seen him in. Even without knowing what he did yet, I have to say I am very surprised to see him end up in any kind of trouble and even more shocked that it seems like it is going to be something pretty bad. He seemed like he had a great future/career ahead of him and was going to be in the league for the next 15 years. This really sucks all the way around.

Is the scrimmage on the radio?

Yeah if it was mental health or even a substance abuse problem, I don’t see Popovich and the Spurs just cutting him.

Exactly what Chad said. He was even part of a big marketing campaign within the last couple of weeks. This is far left field. And we've all seen what kind of behavior is excused from talented athletes. Y'all don't need me to just examples.
San Antonio is also probably one of the most understanding franchises with mental health, especially Greg Pop. But they waived him. Not hide him or trade him. He's gone with multiple years and a ton of potential.
I just don't know how you can look at this and see anything besides it being bad. I really hope it's something he can learn from and become a better person afterwards, rather than a life changing mistake. Because I was really cheering for Primo to succeed. I hope it's something overblown. But until anything definitive comes out, there's really no point in speculating more than this.

I want to know the same thing. I hope they will have a decent amount of highlights of the game on the Bama Men's Twitter page.
GameDay is here and I am excited.

I watched Tennessee vs Gonzaga and I will say that Gonzaga hasn't gotten better defensively at all...Swiss cheese!
Tennessee looked like I thought they would.
