Oats has said in the past that he wants to be the fastest team in the country on offense and the slowest on defense.

I wondered if we ever pursued peja's son

Tennessee about to lose to Kansas because, again, they have no offense.
They’re exactly the same as last year, except Knecht and Vescovi are their only offensive players that are a threat. Maybe Gainey if he’s hot but he’s kind of a shot chucker from what ive watched so far the past 3 days

A tough arse OOC schedule is about to be underway. I love this scheduling philosophy—very aggressive and great experience vs. Tournament level competition.

I wasn't sure if I was joking. Pretty sure they rose after a loss last season.

Drives me crazy. Certain coaches also seem to be great at scheduling properly to take advantage of these metric based polls.

Here’s the link to the SI write up on Coach Oats’press conference today with a few lines posted below. I guess UA’s media department is on vacation because the video hasn’t been posted yet.

The Alabama basketball team's schedule is stepping up in quality this weekend, but Nate Oats still expects positive results.

The Crimson Tide plays Ohio State on Friday night, a team that's 3-1 and ranked No. 51 currently in KenPom, making them the best competition Alabama has faced to date.
The Buckeyes make Alabama its second SEC opponent of the year, having already lost against No. 15 Texas A&M 73-66.
The Crimson Tide has a quick turnaround from Friday night's contest as they'll take on either Oregon or Santa Clara on Saturday. The two winning teams will matchup and the two losing teams will matchup, simulating a bit of an NCAA tournament style weekend.
The Oregon Ducks enter the weekend as KenPom's No. 36 team and Santa Clara enters at 103, making the Ducks a heavy favorite.

Watching Purdue Marquette. Edey is a damn cheat code. How the hell did they lose to a 16? How did FDU neutralize Edey? Foul trouble? The game was low scoring so doesnt seem like they just tried tempo him to death.

Swarmed him as soon as he got the ball so he'd either pass it or get stripped.

I have watched most of Memphis and Michigan this afternoon. Nimari had a really good first half, but kind of disappeared in the 2nd. JQ has been ok today.
Neither Michigan or Memphis look like they’re going to light the world on fire this year.

Arkansas is horrible offensively. Muss just blindly guessed with some athletic players in the portal and that isnt looking like it’s gonna work this year at all.
Brazile is a punk for kicking that Stanford player and they called a double tech, bailed them out
