Offense and defense coexist.
Bama played decent defense in the first half, but poor offense.
In the end, the offense should have worked well in some way in the second half, but it didn't and the players lost their will to defend.

Of course they are the same players but you’ve seen how a defensive stop leads to a crisp offensive possession. Or hitting a 3 leads to more intense D.

Poor offense can affect your energy on D. Oats said the players were playing good D and then got frustrated with the lack of offense and had lapses.

I hate to say it but we peaked a few weeks ago and it’s been a downward slide since the UK beatdown.

Oats did a great job with an inexperienced roster and entirely new staff. Future is bright.

This year will end with us getting cooked by a white hot 12 seed in round 1.

At least my soul won’t be crushed like last year.

That said Coach Curry has the girls playing their best ball at the right time. They could pull a shocker or two in the big dance.

That’s good to hear. Didn’t look that serious to me when it happened.

How is giving up 44 points decent defense?

We have no one to protect the paint and every time a team finally realizes this they make a run by driving and getting easy layups.

Kentucky did it, tenn did it, Florida did it twice.

We need our big to float around the basket and jump up with his hands straight up a bunch... not be floating around.

We also need more movement on offense and we need players like Rylan to actually stay focused and not forget their in the middle of a game on both ends of the floor.

I've been watching them all year and am pulling for them. Playing good ball

Did you watch the game? The first 15-18 mins was some of the best defense we have played all year but when the ball wasn’t going in the basket for us on the other end it became a disaster very quick

They were definitely over a 1.1 in the first half

IDK what it ended up as, but when I checked at one point, maybe near the final media timeout of the first, FL was something like 1.6.

I don't even want to look at Bama's record in the last 6 weeks on the road. Yikes.

What a horrific finish to what looked to be an overachieving season.

5-4 on the road in conference play isn't too bad.

Well, those 5 wins are against Vandy, Miss State, Georgia, LSU, and Ole Miss. Only one of those teams will make the tournament.

Against the teams solidly in the tournament they lost by 20 to Tennessee, lost by 18 to AU, lost by 22 to UK, and now lost by 18 to Florida.

Not great.

Yup, this team feasted on average to bad SEC teams on the road and against good tournament teams got beat down. We saw this in the non-conference and got a false sense of hope in league play the first half. This team has spurts but is simply not very consistent or good.

At this point I will be pleasantly surprised if we play more than 3 more games.

I think the biggest problem this season is the imbalance of the core.

This season's core players, Sears, Estrada, and Nelson, are doing really well, but all three tend to struggle when faced with tall, fast-stepping, and athletic players.
Each play style is different, but their weaknesses are similar, so it cannot be said that there is good synergy in offense and defense.
Even if there are many outstanding players, it is difficult to achieve synergy if the court balance is poor.

Same, feels like we’re the first top 4 seed to get bounced in the SECT and a round 1 upset waiting to happen in the NCAAT at this juncture.
