I would be ecstatic with that...Im trying to keep my expectations in check, im an old guard Alabama basketball fan so I always fear the other shoe dropping.. This remaining road schedule is brutal and for some reason i still have an unhealthy respect for UF (Got heavily scarred by them during the Gottfried and Grant years.)

Still really impressed with where this team is right now.

Estrada can lose focus and be a lazy player.
Idk if I’d say lazy but I definitely see what you do.

It’s very obvious when he’s engaged and super active on the boards and when he’s not. He’s got really good anticipation when shots are put up and when he’s focused, he finds himself in great position to rebound.

When the guards aren’t in grind for rebounds mode it shows.

Russ, that was not a good talk.

Haha, I hear ya... and let me correct myself a little. I wouldn't be disappointed with 12-6 and I think that will be close to the top. 6-5 gets us to 12-6... I think 8-3 wins the sec, 7-4 possibly.. It's just so hard to win on the damn road in conference even though Alabama has made it look pretty easy now for 2 straight season.

I’ll be happy with whatever will get us a top 4 seed and bye until Friday of the SEC tourney. Beating Georgia on Wednesday would be another good step for that to happen.

Anyone know what the KenPom projection is for that game?

I think that's fair. And you are right, he has great anticipation for angles of shots coming off the rim.

11 sec games left and the only one I feel semi confident in chalking up as a given win is Arkansas at home and im sure they will magically start to figure things out like they always do (though they look awful right now).

Alabama is going to be a top 25 team when the new poll comes out.. That said, I admit if they go 6-5 over these next 11 games looking at that schedule I would still be pretty impressed.

I thought a decent prediction was that we'd go 12-6 in conference play after watching the non-conference.

After the 6-1 start that'd be a slight letdown now but I don't disagree that the schedule doesn't have many gimme wins.

Any one of these 3 would likely be the best win on our resume:
@Auburn
@UK
Tennessee

Not many teams in the country would realistically not go 2-1 in these three:
@ UGA
@ Florida
@ Ole Miss

Home games against teams Clemson-level capable of pulling off an upset. Hope we can avoid stumbling in one of these:
Texas A&M
Miss St
Florida

I’d be disappointed to see us drop either of these but they’re really not cakewalks either:
@LSU
Arkansas

7-4 wouldn’t be a bad finish at all.

Decided to go watch Wichita State today instead of the AFC Championship. They’re playing SMU. I saw Keon Ambrose-Hylton was still playing for SMU. I had forgotten all about him. He’s starting and averaging about 8 ppg. Seems like it was like 10 years ago when he was at Bama.

Switch between commercials. It's a good game.

Side note: nice name. I'm a Davis. Chuck Davis is my basketball favorite

I’m at the WSU-SMU game. They’re keeping everyone up with the score at the game. Can’t beat $6 tickets, even if there is football on. Love watching basketball in person.

When I signed up back in 2010 I couldn’t think of a witty name for the site. I had a stack of old 80’s baseball cards on my desk and Chili Davis was on top. Thats where I got the name.

Big dub over the Tigers!

LSU game recap/hype video. Includes Matt’s basket (2 angles). Note Nick at the end - the kid wanted a high five after the game and Nick picked him up and ran down the student high five line. Dog on him if you must, but he’s a true man of the people.

Rylan Griffen vs LSU (12 PTS, 4 AST, 2 REB, 4-6 3FG)

Not sure I’ve seen overhead footage from Coleman before

Tide Hoops History@BamaHistory
One more crazy @AlabamaMBB fact spurred by follower @bluejeanbluz who noticed how chippy players have become once SEC play started. Perhaps it’s because they fear becoming a historical footnote. In his short tenure, Oats has issued the largest margin of victory in series history against five SEC schools:

Arkansas: 90-59 on 1/16/21 (31 points)
Kentucky: 78-52 on 1/7/23 (26 points)
LSU: 106-66 on 1/14/23 (40 points)
Vanderbilt: 101-44 on 1/31/23 (57 points)
Georgia: 108-59 on 2/18/23 (49 points)

I’m late CM Newton/Wimp Sanderson old so where Bama is now feel like old times. In that era, the other shoe dropped in the dance.

Not that it matters because the AP poll is useless when it comes to judging college bball teams but we’ll probably be ranked today when it comes out.

Agreed he is one the better rebounders on the team and the best rebounding guard.

An interesting tidbit about Oat’s technicals by a poster:
Follower @Bamawh asked what is Coach Oats record with @AlabamaMBB in games that he has gotten a technical ??: 21
Record in games: 17-4
Losses: Iona (11/25/21), Notre Dame (3/18/22), Connecticut (11/25/22), Purdue (12/9/23)
One Ejection: Against Mississippi State (2/16/22) in Coleman Coliseum
