I'm panicking at this point the defense is awful every game. You have to be pretty damn bad to give up 90 points every game

He doesn’t care. If you based your opinion only off his in game commentary, you would think last year’s team struggled to make the NIT.

One thing I think is being underdiscussed is how much this program is still reeling from last season's tournament choke job. The damage that did to the program and the physcological damage it did to an already tortured fanbase should not be underestimated. Just feels like the program has lost a lot of momentum.

Crowd was embarrassing tonight. Full student section and about 50% filled in the paying sections.....for a game that is the equivalent of an SEC game.

Coming off of our best season ever. Good luck convincing Byrne we need a new arena when the fans embarrass the shite out of the program with that pathetic showing on National TV.

I can promise I wouldn’t be this pissed off after a loss to Clemson in basketball if I were a “FOG”.

It’s still early and it isn’t the end of the world but in the moment it’s pretty damn frustrating. I thought we were much better than this.

Hey the 20-21 team lost to W Ky at home and didn’t have a good non conf record. We figured it out in SEC play. Maybe this team can get better.

Maybe we have a great shooting night and shock Purdue.

Last year’s team had about the same number of absolute disasters defensively during the entire season that this team has had since Friday.

I’m wasn’t defending tonight’s performance or the team’s future. Just pointed out that you’re miserably pessimistic regardless of how well/poorly the team performs.

Or maybe we had a full assistant staff turnover and 3 returning players from last season…

That team is the most accomplished team we’ve ever had, regardless of losing in the Sweet 16 (which isn’t really a choke job). But yeah, the then best team in the country losing one game against a quality opponent at the end of the season has lost the program all of its momentum

Our best season ever where we faceplanted in the tourney. Probably explains the lack of energy in the fanbase.

Making mistakes on defense is understandable. But I don't understand not playing defense. In this part, I was disappointed with Estrada.

This defense is a complete mess right now. Bad combination of some our top players just not being good athletic defenders but also some lack of player focus as well as some coaching decisions that aren't really working so far.

We've played 4 teams with a pulse so far and all four have shot over 50% from the floor against us!

I'd be willing to bet that even that bad defensive team from 2 years back didn't allow four teams to shoot 50% from the floor the entire 30+ game season.

They want us to be guys who pretend that everything is all good. Even in our first four games we looked unathletic. Pringle and Griffen look like project players and we’re relying on mid major talent to be our stars. Those are facts and no sunshine pumping. Ima huge BAMA basketball fan and I hope we improve but we’re here to discuss our team and it’s not always gonna be positive.

Couldn’t cover a baby with a blanket tonight.. or for the season actually.

If the Defense doesn’t improve, it’s going to be a rough season

I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to attend a midweek game starting at 8:30 against a solid, but uninteresting, opponent.

The administrators can’t make all the decisions based on what the TV networks want and then complain about bad attendance.

I think part of the importance of a new arena is to make it desirable to go to games. I have not attended and have had no desire to attend a game in Coleman since I graduated.

No need to pretend everything is good (it’s not),nor is there a need to declare we are going to hell in a hand basket either. Huge player and staff turnover almost always insures there will be a steep learning curve. Have a little faith in the coaches and the players. We are on the same team. RTR

It may be too harsh to expect much from a reclassified freshman, but Stevenson is a truly important key player in both offense and defense. I hope he adapts to college basketball quickly, but if he plays like he did today, his playing time will likely decrease.

The excuses for the first few games of the year were that we were playing mid-majors to start the season, but we shite the bed in attending the first significant opponent we face at home? Coming off of our best season ever? Bump that excuse.
