If Alabama keeps on winning but doesn't make the SECCG then I think they get a first round host. If Alabama keeps on winning and wins the SECCG in the process, they're probably getting a first round bye.

That bracket is gonna get shaken up like an etch-a-sketch basically every week until it is set.

Yup, I'm very interested to see how the outcome of the IU-anOSU game shakes things up.

If Bama wins a natty first year post Saban this board will implode. That said that will be very difficult to do with new everything although they seem to be gelling finally and playing like a team instead of two separate units.

Realistically? Yes. By rule? No. The 4 highest ranked conference champions get autobids and byes. It does not specify the power 4.

Just a large guess but if Oregon stays undefeated and we win the SECCG they are 1, we are 2, ACC, then big 12. For the conference champs. The rest would be an absolute cluster frick of who goes where and what ifs.

And if Bama gets a natty the first year post-Saban, I'll have to break my rule against going to the main Rant site just to enjoy the meltdowns. It will absolutely break a lot of the LSU fans there, and certain members of the national sports media may never recover.

Are they ranked 1-4 based on highest rankings in a poll or two

I'm not ready to think natty. I think there are landmines on this schedule and our defense took at hit when our most reliable edge rusher tore his arm up in Tiger Stadium last weekend. I still think Oklahoma is going to be a dogfight and sure that Auburn will have spent most of November working on things just for our game.

When I watched the CFB playoff guy on Tuesday he seemed to indicate they place the top 4 conference champs in the order they deem appropriate based on wins, sos etc just like they do 5-12 but like in a mini ranking of its own.

Agreed.

Although it does seem the defense is improving, I think a lot of people are overestimating what the offense did last week. For the most part, they didn't do a lot, other than the designed QB runs that LSU is terrible at defending. I think we need to keep doing that, but we're going to need more than QB runs in some games. I'd like to see more reliance on traditional runs, complemented by an efficient passing game.

akron, western michigan and marshall was tosu's entire out of conference schedule. not a single talking head ever references this chicken livered oocs. everybody carries on like they're the be all end all of college football. they've had 2 games of meaningful competition, oregon loss, penn st win. people love bashing the sec for playing teams like mercer, chattanooga, ga southern yet they'll never say a word about the big ten darling tosu's entire out of conference schedule. rant over
