Correct. I read that score wrong. It was USC they beat, which isn’t saying much these days.

Screw that mentality. We are on a roll! We’re going to Knoxville with the brooms to sweep those big orange bastards. Don’t be scared of anybody. They are a sack of hell, but Bama’s coming and hell is coming with us.

the Crimson Tide swept No. 7 Ole Miss in Oxford, besting the Rebels in a road series for the first time since 2011 and sweeping them at Swayze Field for the first time since 1997. The weekend, combined with Alabama's series win over Texas A&M the prior weekend, also marked the first time since 2018 that the Crimson Tide has won back-to-back SEC series.

Sweep Complete as Baseball Earns 7-3 Win at No. 7 Ole Miss on Sunday
Alabama baseball completed the series sweep of seventh-ranked Ole Miss with a 7-3 win over the Rebels on Sunday afternoon at Oxford-University Stadium. The win moves the Crimson Tide to 21-12 overall and 7-5 in Southeastern Conference play.
Alabama got out front early, scoring one in the first and two in the third. Ole Miss cut into the lead three innings later with a two-run home run in the sixth. Both teams posted one apiece in the seventh, with UA adding one in the eighth on an Andrew Pinckney solo homer, and then a pair in the ninth thanks to a two-run bomb from Zane Denton.
Denton led the Alabama offense with three RBI as part of his 2-for-5 afternoon that included a double and one run to go with the homer. Pinckney finished his day 2-for-4, matching Denton with a double and homer, and contributed one RBI to go with a team-high tying two runs scored. Tommy Seidl also homered on Sunday, finishing 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored on his solo shot in the seventh.
Grayson Hitt (3-0) provided the Tide with another strong start on Sunday to pick up his third win of the year. The sophomore allowed three runs on three hits and two walks with a career-high eight strikeouts across a career-long 6.1 innings of work. Hunter Hoopes and Landon Green followed with the duo combining for the final 2.2 innings, keeping the Rebels off the board while allowing one hit and a walk to go with three strikeouts.
From Head Coach Brad Bohannon
"This was another great, well-rounded performance by our club today. Grayson Hitt gave us the best start of his career, and (Hunter) Hoopes and (Landon) Green were outstanding out of the bullpen. We are getting offensive production up and down the lineup, and we are playing with great energy. I'm really happy for our kids."

Fun fact: #Alabama baseball struck out a total of 34 Ole Miss batters over the course of this weekend's sweep.
Remarkable series for the Crimson Tide.

I know I have been vocal on my disappointments with this program, but it wouldn't be fair if I didn't say how proud I am of them right now. The bats have been much better and they are starting to look like the team I was hoping they would be at the start of the year. There is just too much talent on this team to look as pedestrian as they did earlier. I know it's still somewhat early in the SEC schedule but I'm happy that we are sitting at 7-5 instead of 2-10. Kudos to Coach Bo and the team.
In saying that though, Tenn is a monster offensively we haven't seen in a few years. So let's temper expectations a little and try not to read too much into the team/season on Sunday if things go sideways (talking to myself here as much as anyone else).

I think anyone that follows closely knows what Alabama is up against this coming weekend.
Just beat Belmont on Tuesday and possibly find a win in Knoxville.

Sweeps are just so monumental in terms of swinging seasons because of the exponential effect of 3 games one way or another vs 1 game one way or another. This weekend was so damn big because of that. If we can avoid any sweeps the entire season we'll be in great shape.
Currently 7-5
VOLS : 1-2
UGA : 1-2
@ USC : 2-1
LSU : 1-2
@ AUB : 1-2
ARK : 1-2
Even using a very conservative view of things (losing 5 of the our remaining 6 series), if we avoid sweeps and only win 1 more series we finish 14-16 in the SEC and will almost definitely make the NCAAT again. Throw in one more series win and we can finish at .500 for the 1st time since 2016.

We are 5-0 in our last five SEC games, same as the Vols.

In addition to the wins (who doesn’t love winning?) the most encouraging aspects to me so far are the player development from last year to this year (see Pinckney, Eblin and Rose) and the portal assessment and acquisition (Seidl and Tamez). The players and the program seem to be moving in the right direction. And just like I tried not to get too despondent when things weren’t looking good, I’m trying not to get overly excited after the outstanding series in Oxford. Beyond getting to Hoover and making a regional, the next milestone I’d like to see program achieve is getting back to hosting regionals. Perhaps too lofty a goal for this season. Perhaps not. For now…
Beat. Belmont.

Beat. Belmont.

Not really! Just trying to use as many "hell" related cliches as possible.
