Reflecting on Alabama Baseball's 2022 Season (SI)
It might not have ended how fans wanted it to, but the 2022 Crimson Tide team still showed improvement under head coach Brad Bohannon.

This team was lazy with no heart. We had multiple times this season to slam the door on naysayers and we just shite the bed. Bo ain’t the answer. Teams take the mentality of the coach. Period.

Didn’t we cancel a 2-3 midweek games in 2021? Makes me wonder if we would have made a regional in 2021 if those cancellations turned into losses.

There are 2 series that determined our fate. 1-5 vs State and Carolina, who went a combined 17-37 vs the rest of the SEC and 5-1 vs us.
If we go 3-3 in those 6 we're 14-15 in the SEC and in the tournament without any question. Then go ahead and toss in just winning 1 of the 2 Texas games we had every chance to win.
We went 11-15 in games decided by 2 runs or less. 6-11 in games decided by 1 run.

We went 14-23 vs P5+USM. Our average score in those 37 games was 5.9-5.1.
So our Pythagorean Record was 17-20. Just more evidence that we should have been a better baseball team than we were record wise. Sigh.

Not sure, brother. The stuff that is coming out with folks feeling like the collection plate was being passed around with feelings of feeling dirty is real.
Big money matters, but it the collection of the small donor that matters. Otherwise, there would be random rich dude's names attached to everything.

Dylan Ray Named Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Freshman All-American
Alabama's Dylan Ray was named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, the outlet announced on Wednesday morning.
The honor is Ray's second of the postseason, with the reliever also garnering Freshman All-SEC Team accolades. Ray is the Crimson Tide's first Freshman All-America honoree since Owen Diodati, Antoine Jean and Connor Prielipp were all named to CBN's team following the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign.

Owen Diodati Selected to CoSIDA Division I Baseball Academic All-America Team
Diodati is Alabama baseball’s first Academic All-American since 2007
Alabama's Owen Diodati was selected to the CoSIDA Division I Baseball Academic All-America Team, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Diodati was named to the organization's third team. He is one of only 33 Division I student-athletes to be selected as a CoSIDA Academic All-American and is one of just 14 members on this year's squad to hold a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
The selection is Alabama's first since 2007 when Emeel Salem was named a first team Academic All-American. Including Diodati, Alabama has had seven players earn a combined 10 Academic All-America honors since 1972, including first-team honorees Dr. Jeff Laubenthal (1993), Lance Cormier (2002) and Salem (2006, 2007).
In total, The University of Alabama has had a combined 212 Academic All-Americans in program history with Diodati being the 213th. He is joined on the list of Crimson Tide spring honorees by Montana Fouts and Kaylee Tow of softball.

FSU fired their coach and it’s said they are zeroing in on Link Jarrett of Notre Dame. Jarrett played at FSU. Alabama should go to him with checkbook in hand and steal him away. He just beat Tennessee in game 1 of the Super and he’s coach of the year.

Tennessee player (Drew Gilbert) and Tennessee pitching coach got tossed and have to sit out game 2.
(And Tennessee fans threw trash on the field afterwards)

Man, those last two sentences really don't follow the first two
Anyway, some chutzpah from FSU on that move. Booted after three seasons, one of which was the cancelled COVID season? I imagine the person making the call in their athletic department yelled "LET'S FVCKING GOOOOOOOO!!" just before/after.

I'll say it.
I'm jealous of Arkansas. Their athletic program as a whole is very impressive.
