Another good point TideWarrior, we got a lot of calls against us. Manziel also pulled some magic tricks either scoring a long touchdown or getting a weird cowboy collar (due to his quickness), which is something no other quarterback in our conference can do.

Some of those drives just kept getting extended by the officiating. Very frustrating. They're already a good team with a great player, they don't need the help.

My only other thought, outside of the obvious ones about the offense, is that OJ Howard is going to the weapon that we thought he might be. I thought he looked good out there today.

Not going to start a new thread on it, but was really impressed with OJ today. Young kid appears to be the truth.

Also can't say enough good things about Fowler.

Don't underestimate how big of a win this was. We could've easily lost this game. Was it perfect? No. Was it dominant? No. Do we need to make improvements? Yes. But don't lose sight of the fact that this was a drop down drag out that we won. Huge, huge win and I'm proud of the team.

wut

One today.

One against A&M last year.

The one against LSU wasn't even his fault.

Didn't fumble in Atlanta or Miami.

Nah, just an emotional game. The TJ unsportsmanlike call was bullshite, but hey if we're being pussies about taunts then why not.

Same. Get Belue back, shore things up, our D is still gonna be the best in the country.

That kid will put up those yards on any defense.

False. That is so false.
JFF wouldn't have done that much damage versus 2011 Alabama or LSU. I doubt he'd have done that much damage versus this year's Florida defense. Remember that amazing offense that Oklahoma had in 2008? That offense only scored 14 versus Florida. I don't believe in an unbeatable offense. JFF might not face a good enough defense to stop him, but it's not impossible to stop him.

This. Had we come from behind in the 4th to win it I think we would all feel even happier, the "hold on" wins just don't have the same feeling, but they count the same.

Two weeks from now all anyone will remember is Bama beat A&M (on the road).

OL and AJ played great.

Secondary was garbage.

Run D was solid. Kept that acne faced trailer scum contained, but the DL needs to do a better job of finishing plays.

Yeldon needs to be forced to carry a football everywhere he goes for the rest of the season.

I completely agree with all of what Ystar had to say, but it's just the facts of knowing the stats sheet/record will always say a Saban coached team gave up 42pts & 600+yds. Since this hasn't happened before & most assumed it never would is a little too hard to swallow at the present moment hours after the game.

On the bright side, this team shouldn't get complacent or buy their own hype after this performance. The defense has to live with the stats they allowed Texas A&M to have. I know Saban prefers teams not to compare themselves to past teams, but the defense should know that they are not close to being good; they yielded the most yards and points since Saban has been here. This game should keep Alabama hungry all season.

What does this have to do with anything? I rebutted the notion that Texas A&M's offense is impossible to slow down or defend when in reality, he go lucky on a few plays and the Alabama defense just isn't that good at this point.

This. Make no mistake, I'm happy about a win. I think Saban has plenty of material from the VT and A&M games, and they were wins.

It might just be what the dr ordered to stave off complacency.

I agree completely. This defense looked forgettable today, and I'm sure the players will want want to prove that they were better than they showed today. It's great that the team will get woken up this early.

Actually this is false. You don't know how he would perform against that defense.

You on the other hand have seen how he performed against last years championship team and this years hopeful championship team.

Amazing offense? You mean with the static quarterback who everyone knew would throw the ball?

Are you seriously comparing that to Manziel? Are you serious? Either you don't respect the game or your don't understand it. If you don't understand how much an affect having a quarterback like Manziel can have on the scheme of a defense (even after I explained a little bit a page earlier) then there is no point to us continuing this discussion because it will only get worse from here.

I'll give you another hint. Dual threat quarterbacks pose problems for Saban defenses which pocket passes don't. Manziel is one of the best dual threats in history. Why it is so shocking to you that he was able to be successful against ours or any defense is shocking to me.

Even Saban has agreed with my stance when interviewed after the game. Go to ESPN and go to our team page and listen. This was a huge win against a monstrous kid, which we should be proud to have accomplished.

We had short-comings and officials against us but still handled business. We improved greatly offensively as well. I like where we are at.

Ryan Mallet, Aaron Murray, Tim Tebow, and Stafford come to mind.

You must remember things differently than I. Mallet almost beat us (2nd play in 2010 was a long swing pass for a TD where Lester missed the tackle). Aaron Murray really did have an oustanding SECCG. And Stafford was incredible in the 2nd half of the 08 game.

In fact, I don't see much difference between 2008 Alabama/Georgia and 2012 Alabama/A&M. In '08, Alabama surged to a 31 point halftime lead, and barely held on. In 2012, A&M scored 20 only to barely hold on.

We like to thump our chests and believe that if Yeldon had not fumbled or AJ thrown the INT late in the game, Alabama defeats A&M in 2012. The same could be said or UGA in 2008.

It was certainly better than last year's game against the Aggies, but I didn't like that one either.
