Pick 6

I don’t blame him on the pick 6. It wasn’t a bad throw and just a freakish play that wouldn’t happen often.
The pass over the LOS is inexcusable because he probably gets the 1st down if he continues running.
The fumble wasn’t his fault but he’s got to have better pocket awareness. He stood there like a statue for about 5 seconds.

I don’t know that we were a fraud although I am on board with the majority of your assessment, but I don’t think we had any business being No. 1. That was setting us up for problems.

Went to Games as a kid in the 70s, have seen the good and bad. We are a long way from the Shreveport days

UGA seemed like a pretty good team

I posted a more detailed assessment in thread on the rant, but the lack of self discipline on both sides of the ball, poor execution, and predictability on offense I think are the key issues: penalties that allow opponents to keep drives alive, 70% of the offense coming from two players, and the continuing inability to make intermediate pass plays or run the ball consistently and effectively are killing the team.

Those issues are largely coaching issues. Something turned by halftime in the UGA game (when the team started chugging the rat poison) and the coaches haven't been able or don't know how to get it back on track.

His mistakes hurt. Pick 6, fumble, had a first down running but threw the ball past the LOS making us punt, ...

The pick 6 wasn't his fault and neither was the fumble. The pick 6 was borderline pi and the receiver kinda fell down. The fumble was because our lineman failed. The offense had a few mistakes. They didn't have a whole game of frickery like the defense.

Disagree completely. Team looked set to have a great year. Defense showed warts against UGA but that's a very capable team. Nothing was showed that could have prepared us for such a terrible performance against such a bad team

Where do you go from here?

USC at home- double digit victory, possibly ugly
TSIO- Double digit victory. Tenner is a fraud.
Mizzou- double digit victory. Mizzou is a fraud.
LSU- victory. Team will be rolling.
Mercer- gimme
OU- will be close early, OU's defense will keep them in the game for a half.
Barn- getting abused in T-town. That game will be fun.

Milroe didn't lose that game yesterday

Milroe's mistakes yesterday were numerous and compounding. He obviously didn't lose the game alone, but he made it much more difficult to win.

Which is weird because his teams at Washington were very disciplined. They ranked 90th in penalties in 2022 and 126th last season.

There seems to be a culture issue at Alabama and the cracks started showing two years ago. Now the dam has exploded.

I have been a fan since 1949 and I agree with Goombaw. I remember one year the offensive line was good. They decided they needed a name for the following year so they dubbed themselves the "Pancake Posse." They sucked from that day forward and was terrible the next year. Basically Goombaw is pointing out team chemistry is critical to success however that is achieved. As great as Harry Gilmer was there were rumors some returning WW II veterans dropped some of his passes on purpose because he was 4 F in the draft. Texas did hand them their head in the Sugar Bowl. I think team chemistry is going to be more difficult going forward with NIL.

You realize that's really bad right? 90th and 126th is terrible. The penalties list is ordered from least to greatest penalties per game.

Yeah, they really were. Pick 6, fumble, forward pass obviously beyond LOS. These were major mistakes that caused major problems for our game plan.

It's just reality. These were huge momentum drains on our team and are part of the reason our defense was gassed in the second half.

The illegal forward pass was the only one that was his fault. The DB hitting Williams before the ball got there and Pritchett doing his best impression of a matador aren't really on him.

This was 100% on Milroe, and he knows it. He said so himself. He misread the coverage.

Yes, the lineman whiffed. You still have to hold on to the ball.
