I agree we need a new OL/RB coach. Grubbs is fine, IMO

Our offensive line was beginning to suck in Saban’s final years.

It wasn't just beginning to suck; some were truly awful. Worse than this year's. OL has been a massive liability for half a decade now.

That said, OL probably isn't this offense's biggest issue.

COVID screwed up player evaluations in 20-21.

The essential player in the offense is a quarterback who can process everything.

Maybe Deboer offense is too complicated...idk. If it requires generational QB to be successful, then he needs to change it.

More than anything we need an elite running back or two. Open up the checkbook.

He’s gotten rocked multiple times. Say what you want about Ty, but he’s physically tough!

JPW was as well. I don't know how the board feels about him but that dude took some straight knocks yet would hop right back up like a boss.

Same issues milroe had last year.

And under Tommy Reese and the lone game he started under a-hole chin...

I like JPW and I agree, he was a tough dude.

I used to be a huge Grubb guy. Now if he left it may be a good thing. He is obsessed with running space plays to short side of the field and other odd things

What was with the play where he pulled all the blockers from the short side of the field and then ran hill to that side?

Why was auburn consistently able to rush 5-6 players? Is it because Grubbs formation allows it? He brings everyone in close with no spreading out. You watch our defense and we were 3 downlinemen with the rest in coverage because of formation alone. Grubby really doesn't help the team out with play design.

Add using RW as a slot WR to the mind boggling items.

OC has:
-QB who is clearly injured and can’t throw deep
-OL that can’t get 3YPC unless the defense is 2/3 safeties high and missing an AA Center
-RB1 and RB3 out and RB avg at best
-WR1 and WR2 are injured and basically decoys
-TE1 and TE2 are out

And OP wants to crush him after playing our what, 7th top 20 defense this season while we have a top 15 efficiency offense after road wins at UGA, MZ and AU on our way to ATL?

Totally objective take.

Those things are happening because we’re basically a mash unit held together with bungee cords and determination.

We look like we’re pulling teeth because we aren’t that good without all those starters. Winning when we aren’t very good is a reflection of good, not bad coaching.

With the right guards we’d have an entirely different offense, but we do have a true RB1 on the way to pair with Hill/Deer next year.
