He needs to start earning all of the NIL money he has been making. The guy is worth over $1 million. He needs to start living up to that. His lack of ball security cost us dearly yesterday. The coaching staff also hasn’t been doing enough creative things to get him involved with the offense.

Ryan didn’t drop the ball during the catch, he dropped the ball during the return after dancing around too long and getting it punched out from behind. I don’t get how you’re equating that with hearing footsteps.

I’d rather we put him at punter some early in the season against someone other than the 2nd best team on our schedule. I think he learned a lesson about how ball security over playmaking is the rule for punt returners. It was the wrong opponent for lessons such as that.

Take away foolish turnovers and Bama wins going away. OU had one legitimate drive that wasn’t aided by a huge turnover or special teams error and that was to the 35 yard line. Of course their kicker made a 52 yarder.
Without the stupid first half turnovers, Bama’s up b multiple scores and these chumps would have folded.
Lucky AF is what they are.

Snapper is a problem. Our punter is not very good either. Not sure DeBoer understands your special teams need to be elite in SEC.

And he still won’t be.

This guy (not you, Oreo) has been shitting on Williams with the same statement in multiple threads. Yesterday was just a poor performance by the offense, but they had the stats to win it big if you take away the turnovers.

The hearing footsteps part shows his mindset that he’s scared of getting hit/hurt. Most PRs aren’t scared to catch the ball because they either fair catch it, usually have plenty of time to catch it before the defense gets there, or by rule have to be given space to catch it anyway. You rarely see a PR get laid out immediately after the catch anymore. A guy who is “hearing footsteps,” is worried about getting lit up on the return when 10 guys are head hunting with 30-50yds of momentum. Players who are afraid of contact have a much higher likelihood of fumbling as a ball carrier (heck, Tua dropped the ball in 2019 LSU game without even being contacted because he was worried about his previous injury and getting hit…and Tua was a whole lot tougher than RW IMO). RW is playing scared and it’s severely impacting his game.

You apparently hear Ryan Williams’s footsteps 24/7.

There isn’t a logical person that knows even a hint of football that would watch all the tape of RW’s plays and think he’s playing confidently with no fear. I’m sorry your feelings are hurt. Hope your day gets better.

Really bad take.

The coaches put Alabama in a position to win the game.

These players get paid to execute plays. They did a shitty job.

You constantly harp on the coaches here. I hate to tell you but there ain’t much better out there. There just ain’t.

That's correct because at the end of the day it's their responsibility to put a winning product on the field.

The coaches made several bad decisions during this game. Instead of putting us in a position to win they actually ran the clock out on us. We did OUs job for them. They put RW back fielding kicks when Adam's has been doing well. Why experiment during a big game? Was there a reason we needed an extra boost from the kicking game against OU?

What happened to rolling Ty out? So many questionable calls.

Did I say Deboer needed replaced? I've never once said that. I think they can do a better job.

The coaches have zero direct obligation to you personally to do that.

I think the coaches called a good game for the most part, but that last drive was horrendous. 7 minutes to not even reach midfield is both bad playcalling and bad execution

? This isn't about me personally.

Why do you not think someone who is getting paid millions of dollars doesn't have a responsibility to do good? They have or should have personal accountability to themselves, the university, the fans, and the players to a standard they should want to live up to.

100% agree with you.

But your attitude and a couple of other folks’ attitudes seem to be that they’re personally injuring or damaging you. That’s why I used the specific language I did. Chill out. It will be OK.
