The Reason Why DeBoer Is To Blame

I understand the situation he walked into. It was a SHITTY situation.
I think every HC under the sun would've gone with Milroe as the starter at QB. For DeBoer, this was particularly bad for a guy who wants to run 5 wide shotgun formations all game.
The problem is that he stuck with him when it became painfully obvious he was not up to the task. The Tennessee game should've been the last straw.
What became apparent today is that DeBoer was content to let Milroe run the team into the ground this season. He said he didn't even think about pulling him because of "how much this program means to (Milroe)".
That is fricking bullshite.
Be a man. You're the god damned head coach getting paid a premier salary. If Milroe isn't getting the job done, I don't care if he's the most saintly human being to ever live, you put him on the bench for the good of the team. Saying you can't bench him because you know he cares so much about the team is so weak and pathetic. It's like Shula levels of impotency, or worse.
Coach CKD needs to find his balls or find a QB, and fast, or his arse is gone

I agree on these points. DeBoer will be on a hot seat in 2025. 2024 was very frustrating. Probably the most frustrating in recent years in my opinion.

You guys can keep saying the same thing, but Nick Saban stuck with him as well.
There's definitely a reason, and it's not that Milroe was so good that there was a huge dropoff of talent with the backup.
Both Saban and DeBoer were handcuffed to Jalen for some underlying reason. Let's hope it's over and no one can hold the program hostage like this again moving forward.

What happened last year when Saban benched him? Ty proved he could barely gain a first down against a scrub AAC team. Then people welcomed Milroe back with open arms.

Actually Saban retired to avoid having to coach with him at QB for 1 more year

I am 74 and this is the most frustrating season I can remember.
Yes, remembering can be a problem for sure.
Watching #4 play each week near punishment.

Is it hard to get first downs when your OLine lets defenders run by them? Wow, Simpson should have overcame that, you're right.

This. The offense didn’t play hard that day and it almost got Ty and Buchner severely injured and us with a loss. All because their bro wasn’t in the lineup.

Winks showed any NFL GM today that drafting #4 is a big mistake.

There's also the scenario where Ty Simpson sucks arse too. Our practices are way more open than they used to be & I haven't heard anyone saying Simpson has been outshining Milroe during the week.
There's a good chance Saban left Deboer a shitty QB room. He whiffed on Drake Maye & Arch Manning & Sayin left after he retired.

DeBoer is the head coach, he’s always where the buck stops. However, I am not going to be calling for terminations after year one. I’d like to see some of y’all’s social media history from 2007.

This situation that he walked into is near the level of Mick Dundee and that crock he wrestled at this point.
The legend has grown so but nobody within the admin has documented the real story. Thus, we want to believe that our coach capable of doing a better job selecting a QB, but he just can't do that right now.
These next couple of weeks could prove interesting.

Really? Because all I heard preseason was Simpson taking to DeBoer's offense like a duck to water.
There's no way to make a determination because the guy got literally no shot to show off what he could do this year.

I don't do social media, but my backyard can attest to I was done with Jimmy Johns.

Saban found a way to get him in the playoffs. He’s a better coach. CKD should have made the move.

Going to ask this for the 100th time, if Ty Simpson is so god awful then why is he still
on scholarship at UA? If he would do worse than what Milroe has shown in the last few games, then he doesn’t deserve a scholarship at UA and should’ve been encouraged to enter the portal a while ago.
But he’s still #2 on the depth chart for two years….

Maybe so, but I just find it hard to believe that Deboer didn't pull 4 because he's "weak" or "has no balls". He's never going to tell us why so I guess we'll always be left to wonder.

Let's see what happens these next few weeks with Ty. I poster on another site I visit claims to know some stuff, says Ty will be at Bama thru spring at least.

Saban seems like he was challenging himself in his final season. To win a championship with an incompetent idiot at QB. And he almost pulled it off.

His best coaching job.
