Yep, and they lost their main OC to South Florida last year.

True, but they still had the other CO-OC to stick around. Plus, Dabo doesn't have non-coordinators leaving like Saban does. We are always having to replace out OL, RB, WR, DL, DB coaches. It just doesn't seem other teams lose their non-coordinator coaches at near the rate that we do.

Yep - they have a core of coaches who have been with him all along (and some who were older and retired).

And, after reading their board post-OSU, I think some of them are getting a little frustrated with some of them (Caldwell on the OL specifically).

This constant staff turnover drives me crazy. Is this normal for other teams?

there is nothing normal about the unprecedented dynasty we're in the midst of so it's at least understandable that other teams would want to copy some of it. It doesn't really work like that but they're gonna try.

That's not even in the top 50 of objectionable things I've heard Dabo say. I don't want him at Alabama because I think he's an insecure, conniving, disingenuous shitbag who uses a bunch of fake bullshite about religion and "family" as a recruiting tactic. He should have gone to Auburn.

I don't think so. Dabo has to compete with us recruiting and for Nattys so with him being as self centered as he is, Bama is now his #1 enemy.

Ray Charles could see that but it was just Dabos' most recent jab.

I'm sure it's just a visit and swap ideas/watch the organization thing, but we do all know how these things start. Muschamp was there last week or the week before.

Also, I think we all know BOB would end up being a very good college OC. Came from the Patriots school, has experience in college in which he did very good work, etc. Don't see it happening though.

Dude turned Matt McGloin into an All-Big Ten level QB and is the only guy who made Christian Hackenburg not look lost.

Penn State Pass Rating
2010 (McGloin/Paterno) - #112 (101.95)
2011 (McGloin/BOB) - #60 (135.31)

If O'Brien was truly interested, he'd be up near if not at the top of my list. I just don't see a guy whose last decade has consisted of OC for the Patriots, Head Coach at Penn State, Head Coach in the NFL going to be a college OC.

But who knows, maybe he wants to go back to the college thing (which he did a pretty damn good job at) and he thinks OC at Alabama for 1-2 years is the ticket back to a big time job.

Bama would do a hell of a lot worse than Bill.

I'm reading the BOL thread on him right now and people are legitimately saying "hell no did you see what he did to the Texans roster" as if

(a) you can make trades in college

(b) he'd be the one in charge of those things if they did exist as offensive coordinator

I wouldn't be mad about it, but I'd also like to go with someone who there's at least a chance stays here for more than 2 years. I'd be shocked if BOB was here for more than the 2021 season if he's even interested in the job in the first place.

Yea, that would be my hangup too, but at this point I'm almost even past caring about that at the coordinator spot.

I really feel like the position coach continuity might be more important given recruiting ties and day to day operation. The coordinators don't need to turn over every year, but they feel more like a plug and play than turning over the entire position coach staff.

Could be totally wrong there.

I think he would be a slam dunk hire.

Yeah, he drove the Texans into the ground, but that was the result of him trying to be Bill Belichek and not an offensive coordinator.

He's coached Tom Brady, did extremely well at Penn State and at one point had the Texans rolling with Watson.

I think he would be incredible paired with Bryce Young.

Agreed - and he'd be excellent at scheming and matchups and all the stuff we loved about Sark (along with being a highly respected QB coach). He'd be an A+ hire.

I just don't see it, unless he has decided he wants to finish his career as a college head coach at a big program (since he had a good taste of it at Penn State). In that case, it would make tons of sense, because we know that he'd show up with a toolbox full of toys and put up insane numbers. Then, in 1-2 years, his name would be heavily in the mix at USC, Michigan, Miami.....hell maybe Notre Dame and/or Penn State again if those coaches leave.

I’m sorry, when Saban leaves, and you DON’T want Dabo, there’s something wrong with you.

The internet/social media has made all this crap too personal. I don’t give a flying f*ck what Dabo says, does, believes in, worships, eats, drinks, has sex with, etc. I want to wake up on Saturday morning, grill out with my friends and family, drink, watch the Tide whip somebody’s a$$, and that’s that.

You morons are going to turn down 20 more years of being a contender and continuing this ride because “ugh...I don’t like his quotes, boo hoo!”

Trust me, if Dabo put an A on his head, wore crimson, & started pulling in 5-Stars left & right as the Bama coach, you’d change your mind.

Let’s not hire some unproven bum because you don’t like Dabo’s strategy. Good Lord
