Its pretty fricking sad that we had more passion and support from our fans/students when we were winning 6 games a year.....regardless of opponent/time

You probably aren't playing at 11 if you scheduled a decent team.

Well, we are playing Arkansas at 11 so anything is possible. Why play big name schools every week if other schools aren't going to do the same?

As soon as power five schools stop playing the smaller schools, then people will bitch and moan because the smaller schools need those paychecks.

Bottom line is there isn't any excuses for students to miss the games. People can blame the competition or the time or the weather, but that was never a problem years ago. If the students don't want to show up for early games or for weak opponen, then just do away with the student seats.

I would make Student seats unused 1hr before Kickoff available to the General Public for a cheap price.

Cut the student seating by 50%. If that doesn't work then cut the seats back even more. No one is makin them go to games, but they shouldn't expect to keep those seats either.

Isn't every SEC team obligated to play 1 conference game at 11?

I don't give a frick about other schools. We should hold ourselves to standards that aren't based on what other schools do.

I give a frick. Why brutalize your team with a difficult schedule if the rest of the conference isn't going to adopt the same strategy. It's pretty stupid to put yourself on the wrong side of an uneven playing field.

That's a bit extreme. I could see opening any unscanned tickets opened to students without tickets starting 15 minutes before kickoff.

But it would be funny seeing a family with kids trying to watch the game in the middle of 15k drunk students.

Because it's first and foremost their team. The university should always do what they can to let as many students as possible attend the games.

Students got a right to a ticket. They are students at the University. They can't make them go.

This.

As long as they want to continue the "amateur athletics"/student-athlete charade, the students should get a certain amount of priority.

It's the players team. Students can't claim something that they don't support because they don't want to wake up early or the team isn't big enough for them to bless the stadium with their presence.

We can agree to disagree, but I'll bet you that Bama will start taking away student seats before the SEC adopts a different schedule policy. May not happen this season, but many more games like this past one, and the students won't have nearly as many seats.

Everyone has rights but that doesn't mean that rules won't change.

Watch and see the allotment of student seats get cut. We can debate till we both drop dead, but watch what happens

Have Ua students not transitioned to an ID scan?

Regardless, if they dont like it they have options to affect it.

During big games, its hardly an issue. It is the schit ooc, rent a win games that stand out. For those games, simply anticipate the students aren't showing in force.

Do away with student section and provide pockets of student seating around the stadium. Lower overall admissions prices and concessions costs. Get more innovative marketing to increase draw, in game interest/hype, cute beer girls tossing out .25 hot dogs and dollar beers, etc. to keep things from getting stale. Lots of options. It's like an unaffiliated minor league baseball teams conundrum... get creative. Focus on fan experience. The game can be watched on TV in the comfort of home, what can you do to improve the entire atmosphere.

The enrollment has also grown exponentially. You're going to take way an enrolled students allotment because the attendance was down for one shitty game? It's not an NFL franchise.

Yeah they can't cut the student tickets, but they do have to make it easier to get tickets from people who aren't going to go to people who will (students or not).

There are enough people who will go to these games out there. Our people have to find the best, easiest and most efficient way to make that transfer. It's not easy, but it's a big deal and they have to figure it out.
