I can't remember exactly what he said- I didn't expect it to get whacked, but then again, I forgot things are allowed to get OOC over there

The CC board is a cesspool of absolute bullshite right now and Chicken and the admins are deleting anything that doesn't fit the "HE GONE HUR DUR" narrative to drive ad revenue and clicks.

But by God, don't let someone with a script A post "Why, yes, Tony Brown will be taking an OV to Tuscaloosa this weekend" or you'll get RA'd to hell and banned.

This ENTIRE site has gone to shite over the last few weeks.

Again, when Saban stays I am going to be SUCH a snotty, bratty, bitch about it.

I honestly think that we have some of the better fans on this site. It's just that LSU and Auburn fans try to convice everyone else that we're crazy, when it's really them.



Eta: I've noticed that whenever a bama fan post ANYTHING that has logic behind it (or doesn't agree with the LSU mantra) they automatically go on the defense, down vote you, and try to tear down what you're trying to say.

So whats the deal with Mack Brown, is he even gone yet? seems kind of crazy to say saban to wherever and Mack is still recruiting

Mack sealed his fate when they lost to Baylor. The only thing fueling the Saban talk is that he is their number one target, and their arrogance leads them to beleieve they can throw a pot of money at anyone and get them to come, however if this were truly the case they would have never hired mack in the first place, there were many established coaches when he was hired. People love to spout that Texas is the best job in football, but the truth is that Texas should be the best job in football, but with all the pros and perks come the cons of a program with that kind of money and egos associated with it. The records don't lie, there are several programs across the country, including alabama, that have had much more success than Texas

I'm on the fence about is he staying is he going because I don't know his thought process. All that I know for sure is that Alabama and Texas want him and he hasn't commited to either at this point

He's trying to rebuild his image, so he ain't leaving. It is one thing to lie to professionals and the media and another to be in a recruits home, lying to the kid and their parent(s) while heavily trying to convince them to trust him and join his program.

If you ask me what he is doing is taking his time and letting the pressure ratchet up to help him get more out of negotiations. If he had cut his recruiting visit short I would be more inclined to believe the rumors. However he hasn't, in fact he seems to have doubled down on his efforts. Actions will always speak louder than words (or the lack of words).

Chicken of course wouldn't allow us to turn the Rant into utter crap like he has allowed LSU posters to turn the CC board though.

I made a point yesterday on the CC board that this media coverage and speculation about the demand for Sabans services and the continued reaffirmaation that he is the best in his profession, is a recruiting boon for Saban in the middle of a run for a class that could be the best of all time. The thread was whacked forthwith. The Opening Drive discussed the same point this morning and concluded that this may be a recruting ploy. We shall see, but in the meantime Im going to play along and have fun with it. Tuck Fexas
