Yep. Latham, Milroe and Terrion Arnold ran the program. Not Saban. They were all in that 2021 recruiting class together.

Wait we're hating on Terrion now? Why?

Fans are screaming for Simpson because they don’t think he could be any worse than Milroe and they just want to do something different.

I’d like to think that first Saban and then DeBoer would have had the guts to play Simpson if they thought he could win for them. But apparently they didn’t/don’t. Unless Milroe is the Svengali running the team as per all the gossip.

Yep. I want to see him get some legit snaps just so we will know for sure what he can do, but you really can't simply ignore the fact that two staffs with two different offensive philosophies have seen Milroe and Simpson up close and both went with the guy who can't make high school reads.

Nah Terrion's great. His friendship with Miss Terry was one of my favorite parts about last season. I know everybody is still pretty emotional from Saturday and I get it but maybe some time away from the keyboard would be a good thing.

As for Ty, the single play he got in the OU game showed me all I needed to see to know he have been splitting time. Quick drop back and release. Reciever dropped it. I don't blame Ty one bit for that.

You forgot to add, he went through his progressions before throwing

that was the best blocked play we'd had the whole game & it was a loss bc Milroe has no field vision whatsoever.

Exactly. He's not even smart enough to anticipate and see running lanes, let alone do it in the passing game.

He has the worst instincts I've ever seen. He has so much natural athleticism, but is so mentally deficient it negates all of it. Due to his mental deficiencies I don't think he'd be able to excel in any sport at any position.

situation. With this information available to coaches, the knowledge that the playbook would be limited going into the season due to his lack of development and his awful play at times, what is the true reason the coaches did not go with a different quarterback to start the season or at least use someone else in games where

I’m no QB coach but my common sense tells me that means we have absolute arse behind him for this year anyway and none of them were ready.

The only other alternative is that he was afraid the team would quit on him if he took Jalen out. That’s all that makes any sense.

It’s amazing. Nick Marshall is dumb as a rock but he had amazingly fast decision making when he ran the Gus offense. Milroe can’t do what Marshall could do and that’s make quick decisions. That’s amazing.

Haynes had what, 3 carries? And every one of those runs was a success, yet we continued to just bash Milroe right into the teeth of the defense for losses or no gains? I don't claim to be an Xs and Os person, but how do you explain completely abandoning something that will work in favor of doing the same thing over and over again that fails?

Look back at the game film...many of the times JM ran into the teeth of the D for little or no gain and many of the times he ran to the edge for no gain or a loss, he was supposed to be running a read option. The DE was sitting, JM thought he could out run the DE to the edge only to be tackled by the LB scraping. Or some times he missed the read then followed the RB into the whole. JM does not have a jump cut in his game. Following the Rb left him with one option, try to slide off the the RB rear end to the outside where the experienced LB would be waiting for him.

JM cannot read the option play - or - he refuses to share the ball if he thinks he can get the glory and make the RB his lead blocker.

Feels like an indictment of Simpson, but who knows what the total story is.

Exactly. Every time I've seen Simpson come into a game he looks like he's about to piss his pants. He panics.

He had ample opportunities to win the starting job in the offseason prior to the 2023 season - he couldn't do it.

Simpson is not the savior everyone thinks, and I wouldn't be shocked AT ALL if Keelon Russell is our starter next season. Our QB room is full of bums.

Put your azz behind the 2nd team OL and let's see how you perform. The kid had one game in 2023 with the 1st team OL and receivers.

That is F all.

Appreciate the response, that makes sense.

Exactly. Ty never has gotten any in game reps with the first team. Except for the USF game last year when the players around him purposely laid down and quit because #4 wasn’t playing.

At this point you would have a hard time convincing anybody they laid down because their performance today is about the damn same as that day.

Truth is these players are getting paid no matter what and winning is secondary.

Best thing is for some of them to challenge the NFL on stopping freshmen from playing. Let the NFL fight these fukers in court.

No doubt. Saban should have gone through the film of that game and dismissed every player on offense who loafed. They should not have been allowed to be in the program after that.

All of this can be forgiven. What cant be forgiven is the effort. There multiple plays where if he just plows forward(but has to get tackled) he gets 5+ yards instead of losing yards. The team needed this. Those plays extend drives that would have led to points. The interception non tackle is the worst effort play ive ever seen from an Alabama player

And now everyone expects the new coach to do this...but still win obviously because we are deep at every position with experienced blue chip backups

The fact Kalen didn't meet him at the hash speaks volumes. Is the HC afraid of his pathetic QB?

I would guess at least 5 million may have watched the game and saw that play.
