Deboer and Saban are obviously totally different, and so there is some turmoil right now.

Deboer is more of a team culture type guy than Saban. Saban’s culture was hard arse work and winning, which was great and he attracted a lot of folks looking to win championships and go on to the NFL.

Deboer’s goal is to won championships too, but he obviously makes it important to build a team that cares about one another and the program.

Deboer is kinda like Dabo in that, but he has better x’s and o’s, isnt afraid to use the portal, and doesnt say the corny stuff Dabo does sometimes.

So long term I think it will work out for the best. Right now it just sucks because seems like there is new bad news every day. But it’s really just the same news continuing. Eventually it will stop, and then Deboer will be able to grow the program like he wants, and I think we’ll all be proud of it.

Hopefully so. There are things they can do in the short term too, though. There's a little bit of a standstill at the moment due to the one way portal rules, but there must be some productive things they can do. I think they need to emphasize finishing out the staff by the end of today, getting DeBoer's key players from Washington who are in the portal, making sure they are in constant communication with current players so that they aren't blindsided by any departures, and preparing a really sharp recruiting board for when the portal reopens for everyone. Also could be testing the waters on Michigan players since Harbaugh's departure seems likely - Morgan should have contacts there.

There is so much wrong here I don’t even know where to start.
Saban is massive on team culture! What are you talking about? Lol
I honestly have no idea what you are talking about in the 2nd paragraph. You think these guys from the west coast that DeBoer will bring on care more about the Alabama program? What?

Some of you need to take a step back from the boards and sites.

This can not be healthy for you at all. Enjoy life

You guys keep saying that but then the fears keep coming true. The question is when will the bulk of fans realize this is Whole Foods Bryan Harsin?

Nothing has been proven that DeBoer is a recruiter. The long term could possibly be worse, there is a chance that this year's team will be the most talented that DeBoer will ever have at Alabama.

Don’t you have a Confederate reenactment to attend, Mr. “DeBoer ain’t a fit for our culture?” You checked the ratio of Deep Southerners to outsiders in the folks who are leaving?

lol.
I wanted Kiffin, Lanning or Sark. Are any of those guys southerners? We needed a coach who’s recruited the south and knows how to talk the players and their parents. Our coach is so out of touch he thought sending an email to all players parents was a good idea. Lol

Than go and join another team site because the world is not ending and nowhere as near as bad as the 3 Mike's.

I fear nothing about the end of Saban as the HC and am excited to finally start the next chapter. As I posted in another thread it was more stressfull the last few seasons waiting for this moment to happen. Now that it is here glad to move on.

Again, you are the prime example why the guy who said the other day on the Rant “the fans should be the bosses of the program” was such a doofus and that can never be allowed to happen.

You and everyone else, if you are serious and not trolls which I think is an open question, who is about to commit ritual seppuku are so afraid that … “gasp” … we might not have as many 5 stars, which is meaningless in the real world anyway, those star ratings are subjective things designed to get obsessives to click websites and spend money, and we won’t be able to match dick sizes over that with our rivals on the Rant.

You are blinded to the fact that as stupendously great as Saban was, it’s obvious now that a cult of personality has grown up around him, and that is not healthy because no one is immortal. And if players in addition to having the financial upper hand at present must also have perpetual relationships and hand holding and reinforcement from the people who recruited them, IMO that’s a negative too.

If you are serious and not a troll, you are quaking in your boots and turning around in the floor that after the last 16 seasons in particular, we may not be facing an absolute sure thing, like that is the worst prospect in the history of the world. And since DeBoer was hired, except for tossing a few passive aggressive bones about his offensive prowess to make it look good, you’ve not just continually trashed the guy, you’ve kept moving the goalposts in how you have trashed him.

Lane Kiffin will never be the head football coach at the University of Alabama. Ever. Neither will Sarkisian or Lanning. Accept it and move on or find another team to support.
