Well it was mentioned that “Bryant boys “ have gone to the President and BOT and that athletic dept money could be affected…. You don’t call that meddling ?
He just said that those higher ups are aware of the situation not that him and his buddies went and told on that players. Unless I’m misunderstanding it I’m assuming they (higher ups) found out through the coaches

CKD has to deside whether his first priority is to save this season or take a stand to save the next couple of years and his job.The old timers can accept a choice to step back and take control of the issues but will not accept letting a lack of disapline and entitled players damage what has been built over the last 60 plus years.
quote:
The administrations has been made aware of the concerns. I am not just talking about the AD. More importantly the President and BoT. University and athletic department money is on the line.
quote:
What the specific choices are that have to be made are not the question or issue. This is not about any "who" but rather a huge "what". These guys are not attempting to micro manage. They want to see CKD do his f'in job and get the team shite in order. He has the freedom of choice with his actions but no longer has a choice in the consequenses.
At no point did I say the name of any player that is an issue. At no point did I say that any person outside of the coaching staff or administration was attempting to insert themselves (meddling) into what steps must be taken.
What I did say is that there is a problem. The people that have to address the problem know about it. If the problems are not handled (and soon) the impact will have long lasting effects. Consequenses are neither good nor bad in and of themselves, they are the outcomes resulting from decisions made and actions taken.
quote:
University and athletic department money is on the line.
This money is not NIL money. This is the money the UofA president is paid to bring in and the money the AD is paid to bring in from donors. All involved have a vested interest.

Guys. Please stop talking about BLM. I don’t want to shut it down. Please and thank you.
My bad. I didn't read all the thread before I posted. I deleted my post.
I'm in my sixties and have been a fan through thick and thin. I'm just upset like many of you because this just shouldn't be happening with the way we have loss and the way we've been playing. RTR

The good news is, in December, KD can cycle out any player he wants & he's bringing in an elite recruiting class to replace them. Recruits that coukd have gone anywhere, but chose to play for Kalen Deboer.
I don't think it's as dire as "He has to do something right now or lose everything!"

I don’t know much about DeBoers culture at past stops. I would think it has to be good to have a winning record like that. However, he brought Germie over who has been very vocal (sometimes says things he shouldn’t) and practicing his jump shot during QB sneak

You misunderstood. No big.
Trust me if this isn’t fixed and some positive outlook come soonish. Money will start leaving the university.

The difference in his Washington team is really quite simple when you look at it. He had a bunch of low star guys that he brought up and they were completely undervalued. Heard on every corner that they were not going to beat Oregon or ever amount to anything so they decided to grind it out and made it to the national championship. In that national championship, I watched a clearly injured quarterback in Michael Penix continue to pick himself up off the ground and keep fighting, even though he could barely move; that is something our team used to have that we no longer have.

You don't think him bringing in the #1 recruiting class is a positive outlook?

Entitlement and Complacency are real. 110%

You know how many times we’ve had a highly ranked class that did nothing? I don’t think that moves the needle like it used too.
For the record I have faith coach will right the ship.

Bama has missed quite a few times in recruiting the last few years. That’s why Bama has the most talented team in the country on paper but not in reality
Of course there’s other reasons like improper development, coaching, bad attitudes, etc that contribute to that but a bunch of top 100 players have not panned out

Exactly, when was the last time Bama had really outstanding linebackers?
Seemed to have missed bigly on running backs as well

They aren’t meddling. They are hearing what everyone else is. A troubling locker room and team that needs to some new culture. Crazy you think they are the problem.
We will see. They were a problem before Saban, so hopefully they have learned their lesson.

At this point, proven asset retention and portal acquisitions are more important than HS recruiting.

Not directed at you, just replying because you were the last mfer to post
It amazes me how people are losing their minds this bigly in year one of a brand new coach that inherited a team that already had a range of glaring character issues. No one expected two losses but I'm not shocked seeing as how many games against shite teams we pulled a rabbit out of our arse to beat last year. It was foolish to think there wouldn't be any growing pains this year.
But fricking Saban had players saying "frick him" as they were getting arrested on the strip in his first season. I can only imagine the shite that was spewed about him around here.
You guys need to chill the frick out because you're probably going to look like dumbasses this time next year when you're sucking Deboer off and praying he doesn't bolt for the NFL.

Vanderbilt got people shook to their core. Even though Vanderbilt may be middle of the SEC pack this year.

At the end of the post you replied to I said I have full faith in the coach.

Maybe not expected, but we wouldn't have been shocked if we had lost to UGA and TN

I picked us to go 9-3 and had us sitting at 5-2 right now. Now those 2 were Tennessee and Georgia, not Tennessee and Vanderbilt, but there were definitely people who expected 2 losses at this point.
