Both HCs from Washington and Michigan from Midwest as well.

I remember when QB's used to get under center.

It was wild. He was clearly the more talented back than Damien Harris but wouldn’t get the start. We even created wildcat packages just for Jacobs and relied on him for 4th and shorts, but in the title game we would send Harris in for 4th & Goal against that Clemson front. Outside of Henry, he was arguably our most talented back.

Saban is the GOAT but definitely can make your head spin when it comes to playing seniority.

No they don't. That Texas defense is legit.

Texas' pass defense is ranked 116th out of 133 teams.
Michigan's is ranked number 2.

Michigan's pass defense has only allowed 7 passing TDs all season and has 16 interceptions and is only allowing 150 passing yards a game on average.

That’s not even the worst. Him and Damien got like 8 combined carries after Bo went down against Clemson. Instead we had Hurts throw too much

This has to be a huge recruiting pitch. I can't believe there's any other reason he is so loyal to UC.

Do I want Jam fumbling in the 4th qtr with a healthy Jase on the sideline?
No. But, Jam & Haynes just look like they have another gear.

Penix is going to carve Michigan up like an all-day smoked brisket.

Jam and Justice looked good but Jase played great too. Running game wasn't a problem last night.

To be fair they padded their stats against a lot of awful offenses on their schedule.

For sure. I wasn't knocking Jase at all.

It's just the what ifs are strong in my head today.

Milroe had 23 carries. What if 20 of those carries were given to Jase/Jam/Justice?

Well we played both teams. Milroe had 255 passing yards vs Texas in his 2nd start of the season and had 116 yards passing vs Michigan. I very seriously doubt Penix throws for anything crazy vs Michigan.

Penix has had some off games. He threw for 162 yards vs Oregon State and 204 yards vs Washington State, both those games were in late November, so they weren’t very long ago. Michigan is a lot better than either of those defenses.

AJ could read a defense. Imagine the disaster Milroe would be with a 3 ,5, or 7 step drop. Turnover City.

Pretty sure Jacobs started one game against Tennessee in 2018 if I’m not mistaken. D Harris shockingly got suspended for a half or some shite.

Either way it’s irrelevant to the point. Just pointing it out.

You forgot an important stat

6 sacks for a total loss of 49 yards. 5 of those sacks came in the first half so the OL made adjustments.

I do not understand how someone as athletic and with his speed can not scramble.

I understand your point but at times it seemed like the defender could have taken the snap... they were that fast. I don't blame Milroe for anything other than NOT throwing the damn ball away.

And it wasn't just the snaps. Throw the ball to J. Burton, just behind the line-of-scrimmage, the defender arrives as it was secured.

Michigan studied and new Bama's tendances better than any time I can recall.

Not just the UM game but he got sacked 44 times in 13 games. Every game if would/could scramble we would not have been sitting 2nd or 3rd and long so many times.

Jalen Milroe has 14 starts and has attempted 344 passes.

Quinn Ewers has 24 starts and 690 attempts.

JJ McCarthy has 25 starts and 636 attempts.

Michael Penix has 45 starts and 1634 attempts.

Milroe can improve. He already has improved. This "He is what he is" stuff is laughably dumb. QBs can get better at reading defenses and manage the pocket better and learn to do better presnap reads more effectively.

Do people forget the first two years of Jalen Hurts? Hurts attempted more passes as a freshman than Milroe has in his entire career. Hurts didn't improve at all his second year. His stats looked better, but that's because he kept doing the same things over and over. He'd look for a guy and if he wasn't open he'd roll out and look and look until either runnning out of bounds for a short loss or throwing it out of bounds. He was completely scared to throw into tight windows.

Milroe's issues are fixable. He has all the physical tools, he just needs reps and people to correct him when he makes mistakes. He needs to eliminate the bad stuff most of the time and his ceiling will be higher than anyone else.

QB’s can get better at reading defenses, but QB’s rarely if ever struggle entering their fourth year of collegiate ball the way he does and turn it around let alone start. He holds the ball for roughly four seconds, can’t make simple line adjustments, pre snap reads, or throws guys open. It’s absolutely ridiculous, these are major deficiencies

There’s a lot of fricking work for him to do to improve, multiple years at that, and I don’t think anyone wants to give him the same two year leash of mediocrity Hurts had that ultimately ended in him being benched and transferring

Logan Thomas could improve and had all the physical talent in the world but that didn’t stop him from flaming out as a quarterback because he just never got “it”

Y’all will chirp about “the standard” and for guys like Ferguson to be benched for Roberts but won’t hold Milroe to the same standard. If he can’t get the job done, give the job to someone who will and stop sinking the ship for the sake of seniority. Just because we can choose to struggle with Milroe doesn’t mean we should
