Placed in concussion protocol for the 3rd time this year. Dude has had the worst injury luck of any player I can remember. I honestly think he should consider it.

The biggest thing Tua needs to do is realize the most important play is the next one. He sometimes holds the ball too long. Get rid of the damn ball and go on to the next play.

It’s a second concussion, so not great but not really close to retire over stage.

If you think two is retirement range, a third of the NFL shouldn’t be on the field

If he could find fulfillment in his life outside of being a player, he should really consider it. He’s already made great money and he’ll be able to live off his name alone.

He's always done that and it led to the majority, if not all of his injuries while he was at Alabama.

He wasn’t diagnosed with a concussion the week before the cinci hit, it was ataxia and that got chalked up to his back. They ran him through protocol but he didn’t show symptoms of it and was cleared. And this was 3-4 separate doctors that didn’t rule it a concussion. That narrative is causing a major PR issue for the Dolphins though.

Tua’s drawing some weird drama about it though. Mahomes had two concussions last year and there were crickets. Rodgers had two concussions in 2010 and the outrage was palpable.

I’d retire, he’s got money, but he’s a competitor always played ball. Hard to stop

If two concussions prompted retirements there'd be no college football, much less pro.

He's had 3 this year alone that we know of.

One was clearly severe.

Plus, his ankle issues and a fractured hip.

The kid has been through a lot. He's a warrior and a talent, but at some point, you have to think long term health.

If 2018 Tua had the athletic limitations of 2022 Tua, Jalen Hurts would never have lost his starting job.

People forget that the early 2018 Alabama offense featured Tua's legs quite a bit. They didn't run QB power as they would with Hurts but he could keep it on zone read and they'd even run some designed QB sweeps in short yardage and goal line.

When Tua lost his legs, he got relegated to being a quick game thrower with less ability to evade the pocket for secondary offense throws.

He could still be a good NFL QB but he needs to get better at reading an offense post-snap in the split second before throwing. Brady made a whole career out of being a quick release statue in the pocket but he hasn't had very many games where he's throwing 3 picks in the 4th quarter.

Unfortunately, I don't think he's going to have the time to develop. If the Phins don't make the playoffs, they're going to look into signing someone like Derek Carr or drafting someone to compete with Tua.

Yes. It's clear that he doesn't have whatever self preservation skills (or mentality) all these other QBs have. Tired of him getting thrown around like a rag doll.

Wait what? Derek Carr is terrible. Why would anyone sign him over Tua?

He needs to think about his life after football.

My biggest problem with him is he totally shits the bed with a little pressure and does some dumb shite with the ball. He should have way more turnovers if the defenses weren’t also caught off guard most of the time by his mistakes.

He plays scared shitless if his first read isn’t there.

as a lifelong Phins fan I have been the biggest defender of Tua but his play is head scratching at times
