Alabama is a superior program to Clemson in every way. Dabo practically called Bama his dream job earlier this year

They have newer facilities that are the best in CFB. They are about to play for the NC for the third consecutive year. They are out recruiting us for the best player in our own state.

I'd say at this point in time, they have the edge. Maybe not historically, but certainly right now.

Dabo's mom still lives down here, so that might help us out some.

I, for one, can't wait for Mike DuBose Round 2.

I listened to the end of the 1999 game on a landline telephone (my dad and brother in other rooms doing the same) via some service where you basically paid a guy $15 to put the phone next to a radio and play the game.

Technology sure has changed LOL.

While there is an argument over how good Jimbo is/was.

He was the coach in waiting under Bobby Bowden at FSU.

I would say that worked out pretty well.

That’s just crazy.

Jimbo Fisher just left FSU for aTm.

Perhaps a better comparison would be in hoops when Roy Williams left Kansas for North Carolina.

Williams was THE man in Kansas. He had a highly successful career going and was set for life yet he chose to go to North Carolina where it is final four or bust and Dean Smith was still casting a long shadow.

When you get to that level, you look at things differently than a normal person. It isn't about the money. They're going to be paid insanely well no matter where they coach. It's about what is most important to them. It is entirely possible that Dabo would look and say that he likes what he's built at Clemson and never leave but it is just as likely that he could see the coaching at the place where he won a title as a player as the opportunity of a lifetime.

It's not a well kept secret that Dabo is coming home when the GOAT steps down.

I've talked with people who know him well and it's not a lock. Dabo and his family are pretty ingrained in that community. Clemson took a shot with him when he was only a position coach so Dabo feels a lot of loyalty to them. Not only that, Dabo has that program at our level right now and is two games away from repeating as champs. He does that and he's cemented his legacy at Clemson. Why would he leave Clemson when he's in the middle of his own dynasty?

Not saying he wouldn't come to Alabama, but I think we need to be prepared to reset the market again when we offer him. Clemson will do everything they can to match.

Because the administration wasn’t 100% behind him. Clemson’s admin is behind Dabo. They’ve given him everything he’s asked for.

Doesn’t mean that will always be the case.

Winning this game would be a nice start. He gets another title there and he ain't leaving.

It would even be more arrogant than we could be (well, should be) to expect a coach, in the middle of a dynasty with 2 (or 2+) national championships to his name there, to pick up and leave and come to Alabama.

Frankly it would be the most stunning coaching move in the history of college football given the day and age, even with Dabo's sincere and obvious love for Alabama.
