I don't even get why he is defended on here when if this was some other player he would be burned at the stake.

I just don’t get the singling out of him. The whole WR corps has been underwhelming so far this season, but they also have huge shows to fill so it’s not completely unexpected.

What are you hearing on Cam Wheaton Boz?

I have singled out Bryce for not being able to complete deep passing making it easy for opposition DC's to fill the area against us and slow our attack.

Also was critical of Bryce not running and needing to pass even when running is the far better option.

Why can't I (we) also be critical of Slade as well? The guy isn't quick. He isn't fast. He doesn't have sure hands.

When you're that guy you better not drop a wide open TD. You just can't.

The worst part is watching Auburn run the ball and thinking about our defense.

Or maybe--and hear me out--it's extremely rare to have WR group with four 1st rounders in it.

Maybe it's unreasonable, even at Alabama, to expect a pro-bowl player at every spot in the WR lineup.

Maybe, just maybe, we aren't as elite as we were the past couple of years.

This. We have been extremely spoiled by the last 6+ 1st round guys at receiver. I think our current crop will improve as the season comes along

It’s very possible. Cooper and Ridley didn’t “break out” their freshman years until their 5th game.

I want some damn Agiye Hall. He's shown more potential at Aday than anything we've seen on the field from the others.

He should be playing on every special teams unit we have, just not as a return man. Really should be Xavier Williams playing his position, but he is out.

Slade isn't the problem on offense.

Chris Owens is the problem. He's fricking terrible. Where is the thread asking why he is starting?

Exactly, Slade dropped a big pass, but how many blocks did Owens blow

Well, everyone got defensive and went full sunshine pump when I posted this last week:

quote:

Slade Bolden is jamming up the wr and Special Teams all by himself. He is slow, he has questionable hands, and he definitely has ball security issues. Slade will continue to fumble if left out there, and eventually it will cost the team.

Chris Owens at RT was the moment I knew this OL was going to take a big step back this year.

Brian Robinson CAN NOT CATCH. Really can't have a starting RB in our offense with bricks for hands.

Dont have to be a pro bowler, but you do have to be able to CATCH the fvcken ball, create separation, and maybe do something with the ball after the catch.

The stage is too big for slade. He's nervous. I bet he never drops a ball in practice, but standing all by himself on the road in a close game it looked as if he was literally trying to bat the ball down. He wasn't even close to catching that ball- looked like he was wearing oven mitts. He fumbled on the goal line last week, and has done nothing to warrant all the reps he gets in the return game.

Meanwhile Earle has been electric every time they let him return punts, and he is clearly already a much better option in the slot. I bet after this game slades playing time will start to dwindle. Earle is ready. Earle gets separation, catches the ball, and actually looks like he might do something with the ball after the catch.

Earle not being the starting punt returner is comical.

No he didn’t. He dropped the ball after crossing the goal line. Not a fumble. Ruled not a fumble.

Are you serious ? Everything I posted last week was on display today.

Slow ? Yes

Questionable hands ? This is not debatable anymore

Eventually will cost the team ? Almost did today in a big way. If the offense does not pick him up after that drop we lose that game today.

We had like 10 drops. Any of which could have cost us the game. He dropped 1 pass. Chill out.
