Byrne actually pointed out a specific Twitter account that did play by play and said they were unhappy with that person

I spoke to Greg for about 30 mins during the scrimmage and he mentioned it to me. Lol

Maybe I heard it wrong, but I looked up the account name I thought he said (with the two b’s), and that one hasn’t posted since 2014.

I wasn’t on my phone to see this thread during the scrimmage, so my first thought was, “Oh no, Boz got caught.”

OL - still TBD as I said above

Come on now, you are comparing against one of the two best OL units in Bama history and one of the best in NCAA history:

LT: 2020 (Leatherwood 1st rd)
LG: 2020 (Brown All-SEC, 6th rd)
C: 2020 (Dickerson, Remington/ 2nd rd)
RG: Push (Ekiyor will start in 2022)
RT: 2020 (Neal 1st rd)

All five guys on that line were first team all-sec at some point in their career.

quote:

RB

Najee won the Doak Walker and was a 1st rd guy. The backup was Brian Robinson who started last year with all the guys you mention as backups, most of whom are now coming off major injuries. In no way is our unit this year better, even though it’s incredibly talented and deep once the guys are back all the way from injury.

WR: Devonta Smith has an argument as the best college WR of all time and Waddle is possibly the most explosive player in school history and you had another AA/1st rd pre injury guy in Metchie.

No one on the current team would be a starter on that squad.

Overall:
I’m not belittling the potential of the 2022 offense, but 2020 Bama is right there with 2019 LSU as the greatest offense of all time.

It’s not fair to compare these two squads, but it is fair to say if the OL has improved and someone steps up at WR the unit could be the best in the SEC and right there with OSU as the best in the country.

In our coach chat after the scrimmage he said 10-14 days and that he wasn’t sure if he would be back for game 1 but he definitely would for Texas.

I think that this team will look different than 2020. This year's defense is loaded with talent, depth and experience. 2020 had some really ugly moments on defense. That offense was awesome I agree but this one will be really good. Different but very good.

I hope that he's full go for Texas but having him back for SEC play is more important.

I have full blown national championship expectations for this team this year. I didn’t expect a NC at this time last year with a new QB, losing so many WRs, Najee, OL, etc. But this team could be special.

It is a national championship level team. The schedule is brutal though. If this team goes undefeated then wow.

I hope it’s the best defense and team ever, but some of the defenses we’ve had have truly been elite. Let’s see what happens first.

everyone keeps raving about the defense being very good/great. yes i think the talent is there. but unless things change, a pete golding led defense dont come around until after mid season. so i for one, will temper my expectations until i actually see it.

I will say this.. this is first time Golding had a loaded defense with no significant holes.... cb play are getting better each week.

I think Golding defense will be ready to play 1st game out

It all depends on injuries.

As we've seen with elite teams in the past, injuries in the wrong key positions can spell doom to championship hopes if the next man doesn't stand up.

I kinda agree with this . Road trips to Texas, LSU, UT, Ole Miss and Arkansas will not be easy if we are not ready to play

Back in 2020, I felt better about winning it all after the 2020 Iorn bowl.It was the first game were
Balmore,Young,Smith and Mathis saw most of the snaps while sitting 92,94.I think the same thing will happen this yr and that by mid season we see more Young,Otis,Smith, and J Burroughs mixture. The only question about this defense is interior line being consistent.

Not concerned over either.

I think Ole Miss sits in a dangerous place with Kiffin willing to do anything for a win vs Saban.

People are sleeping on LSU. They have some elite talent in spots and they nearly won last year despite all of the drama with Coach O.

I'm hoping the OL and run game is the difference for Bama this go around. Couldn't get anything going on the ground last year and gave up 4 sacks and 8 TFL.
