I absolutely think he is incapable of that. 100%. I'm not even sure that's a "BoB is an idiot" thing as much as it is a "this is BoB's offense" thing. It's the purest form of the Ernhardt-Perkins system that we've run since Saban starting moving that direction. It's all about the WR/QB reading the same thing in the defense at the same time and knowing that means that we run this route. Bryce is fantastic at it. That's nearly impossible to ask a freshman QB and a bunch of freshmen WRs to do in unison.

Jalen Milroe was just as good if not better in the literal same A-Day game, so I'm not really sure how we're supposed to take something away from either of those.

I'm not saying Ty can't play some semblance of decent QB for this team this year. I was responding to a post saying that someone had lost faith in Ty because he was still learning the offense at this point in his career. That shite is hard and a huge process for true freshmen in non-one read schemes. It says nothing about his abilities or future in a negative way at all, IMHO.

I have no clue what he'd look like in a game or how ready he is to play, was just noting that him still progressing with the system at this point is nothing to be worried about.

Ty’s dad is a coach so you figure he would be a quick learner

Obviously taking some random twitter post with a huge grain of salt

Ryan Fowler on radio who was on field said it was true. Bryce warmed up in tunnel. He told all 1stcteam reps on Wednesday and Thursday. Bad coaching decisions didn’t help. Jalen can’t run the Bryce offense. He was not well prepared.

Odds are he was operating a somewhat simplified version of our offense in that scrimmage.
That was 6 months ago. Since then he's obviously made a ton of progress in his game as well as his understanding of the offense.

I think it's as simple as a totally stupid depth chart decision on behalf of Saban. i think if Ty ever makes it into a game this season, it will be much like when Tua came into the national championship game. Everyone will be wondering why in the hell he wasnt named the backup much sooner.

Im much more willing to believe that Milroe is highly unintelligent, and anxious, and unable to operate even a simple offense, than BOB being incapable of simplifying an offense for the QB.

If Young doesn't play then we'll deal with it. I just can't believe at the low quality backup QBs we have. What did the coaches think we were gonna do if Young got hurt. And what can they be thinking for next year at the QB position? Saban has GOT to get a new OC.

It blows my mind that people expect freshmen with literally no significant game time to come in unexpectedly and play great football. It is extremely rare for an inexperienced freshman college QB to come in and light it up. I guess its just the microwave society that we live in. Sad.

Disagree with the implication we can't win if he plays.

I didn't say that we couldn't. We can win with the Jalen we say against Arkansas. We can't win with the guy who played against Texas A&M.

That's why they had all the staffers holding up towels to block viewing in the tunnel. I was also told that he warmed up late in the 4th quarter, as well

Milroe has a cannon and has thrown some beautiful passes. His athleticism and size remind me of Cam or Vince Young. Clearly he has the natural skill set he just isn't developed at the position or naturally gifted for the nuances of the position like Bryce or maybe Tua was and it will take time to develop. Like Jalen Hurts, his size and athleticism was got him along but he has to learn the position and the game and how to be a NFL prototype QB making reads, checks, reading D's etc. etc. Like Hurts, he has been thrust too early into the position and is going to have to learn on the job. It may or may not cost us Saturday.

Is he? I don't think he has proven that he is capable of that at any point in his tenure at Alabama. He has actually done the opposite and proven that he is unwilling to adjust/simplify his offense until the last possible minute/drive.

I have seen high school QB with more potential than Milroe that could have entered the game and played better. Its like Milroe hasn't learned anything. Thats not expecting too much.

Our Milroe-led offense has put up 59 points(should be 65) in 6 and a half quarters. Yes, his turnovers last game were bad, and he obviously has A LOT to learn, but you are clearly being ridiculous with the above comment.

Any football fan that understands the game and commentators have stated this week we won in spite of Milroe against a very bad Tex AM fan. And yes, I have seen high school QBs that could have played better than Milroe. That is factual.

Bill O'Brien is a bigger idiot than I have stated previously.

So we trotted out a redshirt freshman who struggles with accuracy and would struggle with reads out against Texas A&M with barely and first team reps.

No reps for timing with first team wideouts.

Nothing.

BOB did that against a team we know has a coach who is obsessed with Alabama and Saban and gears his entire season toward beating us.

fricking moron.

Latest update on BY from Saban on his radio show just now:

quote:

Saban: "Bryce has practiced some this week. I think it comes down to does he feel and do we feel that he can throw the ball effectively enough. He's not gonna hurt himself by doing it. I just don't know how much it will hurt him if he does it. He's done it on a limited basis."

ETA: Here's the rest of the quote:

quote:

Nobody's gonna know that until Saturday comes. He won't know it, I won't know it, nobody will know it and I know he wants to play and I know he thinks he can play. We'll see.

Sounds like Saban wants to keep UT guessing until game time. Pretty standard stuff.
