Hope I'm wrong ..
But I think we're going to be very disappointed in coaching changes
Head coach couldn't even make a decision to rotate a QB when it was apparent to everyone (even to QB1) that he was struggling and underperforming due to mental and/or physical issues.
This dude needs hand holding in a a very bad way.

You mean kind of like playing Milroe for 4 qtrs vs Go Blue in the bowl game.
I mean the 1st qtr was without a doubt the worst qtr of QB play by a Bama QB I have ever seen.
But I am only 75.
Ystar will be along to cover for his boy Milroe. He knows football.

quote:You are correct. Deboer isn't magically going to realize his entire approach to coaching is not good. If a coach has to be told to make changes, its over. It shows he is too delusional to see it for himself. He isn't built to go against the type of coaches in the playoffs. A hard nose disciplined team will pound Deboer teams and make them like it.
we're going to be very disappointed in coaching changes Head coach couldn't even make a decision to rotate a QB
Deboer has 2 things going for him. He is a nice guy and he is a good recruiter.

Why not go after Cignetti and try and recreate a Saban standard of excellence?

Man cut it out with Cignetti talk. He just got extension and y'all getting worked up over something that's being assumed.

Dude’s about to go 16-0 and you think all we have to do is crook our finger and he’ll come running?

Not many coaches can manage the amount of ego in that building -- players and support alike. Most of the men that have had success at Alabama were larger than life type figures -- even Stallings had a level of gravitas that few coaches have. Saban and Bryant both knew they were the biggest dick in the room and so did everyone else.
DeBoer doesn't seem to have that kind of persona and doesn't command that level of respect.
He's more of a nice guy, "player's coach" and I just don't think that works at a place like Alabama.
It's not his fault, and he isn't going to change now. I think he's a great coach and I am all for him getting another 2 years to prove me wrong.
But from the outside looking in, DeBoer just doesn't feel like an Alabama coach. I can't tell you why, but he doesn't fit the formula.
ETA: Either way, he isn't going to tank the program. We aren't going to banished to the Hinterlands anytime soon. If he does leave, his replacement will come into a good situation just like he did.

Leaked details of the “meeting”
Byrne: “Listen I went all in with you and I’m feeling exposed and more vulnerable than your QB right now!
Deboer: “We have the best guys on the team. They have great character and really keep things in perspective. I am so proud of all of them!”
Byrne: “What does that have to do with anything? You need to overhaul this abomination of a rose bowl or we are both about to be out of a job!”
Deboer: “ Ah I got a nice buyout and if my time is up I’ll just retire to the beach and enjoy that nice buyout you set up for me. You are the best Greg!

KD left Washington after building them up and taking them to a NC…

Yea why would we go after the only coach comparable to Saban outside of Kirby dumb

My bad I forgot Indiana has more prestige and money than bama…
Why would anyone want to be the HC at Alabama when they could be the HC at Indiana!

1) Because of fans like you.
2) Indiana is undefeated and on their way to a NC.
3) IU is currently proven you can win outside of the SEC and being a blueblood.

He just started donating to IU football at the end of 2025…
Guess bama spent all that money they made from Saban’s unprecedented run

Fans that want to win a NC are a bad thing? lol ok
Undefeated on their way to a NC the same way Washington was with their previous HC? Where’s he coaching now?
Indiana has not proven anything outside of one year of success (see Washington)

I keep telling y’all that we could be shooting a short stick financially down the road compared to some of the nouveau riche schools because they have new money compared to old money. And if they run the table this year, to the mercenaries in the sport now that’s going to have a lot more impact than stuff that happened 20 years ago.

Cignetti has won one Big10 championship. He is a good coach but comparing him to Saban and Kirby is ridiculous. He has about the same resume as Kalen DeBoer at this point.

Because of fans like you that demand perfection every year. Maybe you started watching Alabama under Saban.
See what you fail to realize even with Saban as the greatest coach of all time he won 6 NC over 17 years not every year. That is 35% in case math is hard for you.
As bad as our team played this year we were still in SECCG and the playoffs.
Maybe find another team to pull for now that Saban is gone. This does not seem like a good fit for you.

The biggest decision is actually where do you start in order to fix so many problems.
Big decisions by Big People with money will be studied this weekend.
You owe his 900k per month until paid in full if you go full metal jacket. (Until he gets another job to counter those payments)
Will it come to the point the PTB just do it? I don't so this year.
I assume just a remodel will take place with a coach or two leaving.
As one longtime Alabama donor — and not just any donor, but the kind who has their portrait hanging in the Donor Hall of Recognition at Bryant-Denny Stadium — told On3: “We’re spoiled, always have been. But when we put a team out there that looks uninspired like we have far too many times these past two years and lose to teams that we’re clearly more talented than, that’s when it becomes a problem … and not just a bunch of spoiled fans griping.”
