Rule change I'd like to see-defense clapping hands

One rule change I'd like to see is when the defense claps their hands trying to the center to snap the ball before the QB is ready, to make that an automatic ejection from the game for the offending player and an automatic 1st down for "unsportsmanlike conduct".

I know it's a penalty already, but I'd like to see the results be more harsh.

I believe Auburn was doing that when Seth snapped the ball before Jalen was ready. I was watching Clemson-South Carolina and Clemson got away with doing that a couple of times.

It just really rubs me the wrong way that it's such a weak penalty as it is now (5 yards).

Ejection maybe harsh, but 15 yds and automatic 1st down would work.

Or just to see the existing rule called more consistently.

Since the players get paid, fine them too.

An ejection is too harsh. Maybe just let the QB kick him in the nuts or something.

Before we try automatic ejections. We should try the death penalty first. If that's not too harsh THEN we try the automatic ejection.

I get that ejection seems draconian. But 15 yds and an automatic first down doesn't seem harsh enough to offset the benefit that they could receive from the cheating. This offense usually occurs at crucial points, where a bad snap or offsides can turn a whole game. It was a miracle that Alabama could recover from it Saturday. I guess you're never going to stop cheaters completely from cheating, how about 15 yards, automatic first down, and it counts as one of the players 2 personal fouls.

Maybe if a defender is caught clapping, he gets his cheeks clapped at mid field, and force his dad to watch.

That'll send a message.

do we really want to give officials MORE wiggle room to make snap judgment calls on the fly?

Sure there are going to be SOME cases where it's egregious and deserved like the iron bowl. But I can recall at least 3 or 4 times over the last 3 years UGA has had the penalty called on us while MLB is looking around at his teammates trying to signal a coverage change with absolutely zero ill will or misdirection intended.

Inside of two minutes, but 10 seconds back on the clock. This will keep the defense, a little, more honest, trying to disrupt an offense im flow during the two minute drill.

I would trade changes to the clapping rule for more punitive action against guys, obviously faking injuries.
