Solid hire. He will likely be with Bama for a long, long time. To take Buffalo consistently to the NCAAT is nothing short of remarkable. This gives us some Steve Forbes-like X and Oats without the baggage. A good, hard-working, clean cut no-nonsense guy who will have his opportunity to grow into a legend. #I believe in Oats

I think this is the kind of coach we needed. I'm excited to have a guy that knows what he's doing. Also, he will demand the kind of effort and attention to detail we sorely lacked under Avery. He does need to try to get Bucky on staff to help with Alabama high school recruiting. Also, he needs to be on the phone with Kira now.

I love this coaches confidence in his ability and philosophy. Very Saban like and he is supposedly a fan of Saban.

Alabama head coach Nate Oats has already offered 3 star forward Raymond Hawkins who is scheduled to announce his commitment on March 30th. Had previously named Buffalo, Arkansas and Arizona State as his three finalists.

Well, I am disappointed. I hope Oats is a home run but right now he just seems like another in a long line of mid majors. Success percentages are low. Hope we got the right diamond in the rough this round. Time will tell.

Not sure I like the fact that he is going after guys that he offered at Buffalo. I'd be pissed if a coach did that to Bama

I am good with him. We know Alabama is not ready to start paying CNS money for a basketball coach. He is the best young, clean cut mid-major coach out there. I will be going to some games. I just hope he can retain those 3 signees because he will have some shooters to work with. I hope Kira will stay also. Petty is gone; I have heard he has a major attitude. It will surprise me if he doesn't go.
