We'll go from Johnson to baby Dick.

I'm in agreement that Steve Forbes is probably the most bang for your buck hire for Alabama. I think he's all ceiling. Especially after the amount of $ they are about to spend to make Avery go away.

A Tennessee buddy of mine said ETSU returns the core of their team next season and that the belief there is Forbes will do work with that squad and be the best coach available next year.

He also said the plan was for Forbes to take over at Tennessee after Barnes but that Barnes' success has complicated that. According to him Forbes loves that area and his family is comfortable there. That said, $$ changes minds.

Yes they do, and the rest of the SoCon loses most of their upperclassmen. ETSU is going to go 30-4 next year or something.

Forbes can wait and pick, but we're a pretty damn good job for a guy at a mid-major who has made his bones in the South. If we decide we want Forbes and go after him I'd be shocked if he said no.

I would be ecstatic if we hired Forbes or Matta. Would be happy with either of the other two.

My list is:
1. Forbes
2. Matta
3. Prohm
4. Brannen

Also, if he has a problem with Pearl, what school would be better for him than Bama. If he is anywhere as petty as I am, then that would seal the deal

Agreed. I don't want Prohm to be the first call or first choice. He's a good coach but I don't want to settle for him if there are better choices out there.

This is all day. Pearl is most definitely petty. Could be great fun.

The rivalry between Forbes and Pearl would make the rivalry between Ponytail and Pearl look like small peanuts.

AL.com posted an early list of names to keep an eye on. It includes Prohm, Hoiberg, and Kelvin Sampson LINK

Yeah, I'll pass on Sampson. Pretty good coach, but he would have to be majorly vetted. I like Prohm and Forbes. I also like Wes Miller at UNC-Greensboro, but he may need a couple more years there before he's ready.

I know you are. Your son was recruited by Prohm. Would be a good fit for Kira

Iif prohm wants to come let's get him. No reason to swing for the fences and miss again like we did with Marshall.
