They weren’t always pretty, but they gave me a lot of great memories.

Could have easily won this game - but that is basketball.

As a child of the Wimp days, I’m just glad Alabama basketball is back.

It sucks it had to end like this, I legit feel bad for our guys but man this was a tremendous season. I hope everyone focus on the accomplishments and use this tourney run to come back even better next year.

Winning the SEC regular season and tourney isn't a moral victory.

If you told me in November that in Oats’ 2nd season we would win the SEC, SEC tourney and go to the Sweet 16 I’d have taken it no questions asked, Future is bright.

Winning the SEC and making the Sweet Sixteen is definitely a great season...it just stinks going out basically because of atrocious free throw shooting.

Didn't say it was mediocre. I said I don't like moral victories. It's a waste of a season to screw up this badly. If a team is just better than you and you lose its one thing. To shite the bed at the free throw line is inexcusable.

A few months ago Alabama was 4-3. If I would have told you then they would finish the year 26-7 with an SEC regular season and tourney title and Sweet 16, you would have thought I was crazy. I hate it's over, but what run. Roll Tide

"Back"? We've never been there. But I am excited about our future with Oats. Gary, Ellis, Primo will be huge next year. I believe we have our best days ahead of us once Oates gets his players, and his system fully installed.

Hell of a year, we kicked a lot of arse and it was wonderful.

There’s 8 teams left playing for a national championship...nobody gives a f*ck about Conference championships anymore. Conference titles are as useless as the Sweet tart bowl in football. It’s ok to lose. Not everyone can win. 1 team will, let’s come back strong next season

To each his own, I suppose. But by Alabama BKB standards, if was an outstanding season. Like others have said, maybe the turnaround season for better things to come.

Yeah but considering where Alabama basketball has been the last 13 years. If you aren't excited, then you are simply a miserable person.

Ummm it is huge for momentum as a program. Especially being able to say “hey we’ve already accomplished *this* within 18 months, hop on board”. It helps you separate yourselves from others in the conference and becomes a key for consistency Recruiting has already changed and having titles to reference and how you are different from the other schools in the league recruiting him only helps.

Also a child of the Wimp days and even remember the last few years of CM Newton. Last night hurts a lot like 1976. Alabama should have beaten undefeated and eventual National champion Indiana and we should have beaten UCLA last night to advance to only our second Elite Eight.
You feel for the seniors: Herb Jones, Mr. Everything missing 2 FTs that could have won it in regulation, Petty, the 3 pt sniper who went ice cold toward the end of the season and was never much of a factor in the Dance, Reese who hit the biggest shot of his career to send it to OT seeing his efforts wasted as Bama collapsed in the extra period.

It’s frustrating for Bama hoops fans who have waited so long to return to relevance on the national stage to see such a great opportunity to make program history be pissed away on a night where everything that could go wrong did. I feel certain that if we played a 5 game playoff series with UCLA and that was game 1, the final tally would be Bama wins it in 4, 3 games to 1.
The sun will come up this morning and most Alabama fans will turn their attention to spring football or maybe baseball or softball, and life will go on. But the hard core basketball fan is going to have a bad taste in their mouth and be bitter until November when we tip it off again, not because of the great things these guys managed to accomplish, but because of what they left on the table, because of what might have been.
