Exactly

According to the people on the rant the fact we even have the money to pay for phones to call recruits is nothing short of a miracle

The funny thing about that is that Alabama literally set the standard in investing in the football program.

Yes some have said that here.

I'm sorry but it has to be the coaching and as such Kapilovic needed to go. Not sure why that's so hard to grasp.

Are you mentally okay? I have said we need to make changes and the entire point was negative guys like you were claiming we wouldn't but we did.

Bama is content to stick within the 25-30 million deal. They will not get into bidding wars for a player because it will only create issue within the current roster.

They NOW are looking more closely at all levels in college football for players.

High school players are the main focus and building a good relationship with that group even though Bama will not get them all. The hope is if those players do hit the portal, they will consider Bama again.

I get it that there will always be busts or misevaluations of recruits but you cannot tell me that literally every single offensive linemen on the roster are or were busts. Almost all of them are former 4-5 star recruits in HS. That's obviously no guarantee of them being successful but I refuse to believe that with all that talent, Bama should have such a horrible offensive line.

Not defending Kap but the line was already going to shite under Saban. It bottomed out under Kap.

Nick hired a shite OL that was a HC in the NFL. But he fired him at the end of that one-year mistake. JMO the OL fired is a large part of the problem but not the only part.

The problem with Kap is that he could have probably coasted out 2-3 years of capable but diminishing quality OLs if he were taking over in the mid-2010s. However, he was the 3rd bad OL coach in a row so he just inherited shite and multiplied it.

Marrone didn't want to assistant coach in college and he absolutely phoned it in that year. He wanted bigger, and in turn slower, OL prospects, which Bama has had to cycle out in the last few years.

Good OL coach when motivated, he's done a great job turning around the New England OL with 2 rookies starting.

I’m well aware Marrone and Woolford were both terrible hires by Saint Nick but I still contend the poor coaching and development were much of the reason for the struggles.

Same with Kapilovic. He simply wasn’t able to develop and improve what he had to work with.

A big part of the reason Saban retired was because he was having trouble recruiting assistant coaches because of his age. Most thought he was close to retirement and the same with recruiting high school. They were asking if he would be there3 or 4 years. And he wouldn’t say yes.

I don’t get why people are so down on this guy. When he was an Oregon in 2022, the Ducks led the nation in fewest sacks allowed (5). I’d say that’s pretty impressive.

only 5 sacks the whole year, impressive.
