Lol back then, buyouts were less than Texas just paid Cam Coleman.

Is the plan to add weight to all these TE’s and convert them to OT or DE?

The way it’s looking, it might become a necessity!

I’m somewhere in the middle of sunshine pumper, and gloom and boomer: this whole portal thing is another giant loss for us. We can sugar coat it any way we want, there aren’t a lot of silver linings going on with our program right now.

Again, we’re in flux because we just did housekeeping that was a year delayed from the Saban era to transition to CKD era schemes offensively and defensively.

People are freaking out because we’re accustomed to low turnover from the pre-portal/NIL era under Saban and having a second team that would start in the B10 or at Mississippi State. That’s done everywhere.

We’ve cleaned out the old roster, painful as that has been. I’d recommend waiting to see what we add back in at the end of the process rather than stressing about it at low ebb without any means to do anything about it other than donate to yea Alabama.

Bemoaning every twist and turn in portal era CFB seems like an awful way to spend time and a great way to ruin your blood pressure.

I think it's becoming clear that people putting us in the top ten in nil is probably lying.

I think there are clear money issues which isn't surprising.

We just can't compete for highly sought after guys in the portal. OL and DL targets get expensive quickly. I'm sure DeBoer and company would bring them in, if they could afford them. But guys like heard etc were never attainable

We will be fine. Ced, Williams, Brooks, and Rico is an insane WR room.

We have $500K to pay Saban to do nothing.

These two losses in the portal today don’t really bother me, think we’re better off without them. Taking the “savings” and focusing it on difference makers on the defensive line and offensive line does more to help this team than anything.

Then why we’re going hard after them with one of them actually enrolling classes?

Who are those currently in the portal?

No question.

We have 3 guys who would start anywhere and if I had to make a list of concerns WR wouldn’t be anywhere close to making that cut.

We need to get RW head right, improve pass blocking from that room to open up the screen game and add some depth. Coleman was always a long shot in a year where we have major real and pressing needs to compete next year for the SEC and CFP.

Someone call up Billy Bean. We need one of his guys to come help us. We are now the Alabama A’s. Drop the crimson tide. It sounds too expensive for us.

Sour grapes on my part but Cam is a slacker. He takes way too many plays off. Sark will fix that. Hugh allowed it.

The number floating around on X is $3-3.5 million from Texas.

I’m just saying to me, the oline and d line are our glaring problem.
We’re gonna have to pay up to get top linemen when available.
