By who? Who suggested that? Are you making this stuff up
I have no interest trolling some obscure sports message board on Saturday morning. Im just reporting what was being discussed other places for the last few days that apparently didnt play out.
Every team in CFB probably had a couple guys considering jumping in late based on offers, wanting a better deal or being upset at what was being brought in via the portal, not sure why that would be odd to suggest was a possibility?

I see Young is still in the portal with no home yet. Any actual information of why he never got into the rotation? A lot of potential

He looked timid as hell when he got opportunity. Not something you want from your RB

Seems a lot of posters on here are STILL blinded by his potential and ignore his production. He had the physical tools to be among Alabama’s elite LT’s of all time. But he never connected that to desire and a mean streak. If you could have grafted Dickerson’s mean streak into Proctor, you would have had one of the top 3 LT’s ever at Bama.
The guy looked to me like he was carrying 20+ pounds of bad weight his entire career which led to him having slow feet and as a result never really broke through the threshold of being good to reach his ceiling which IMO was AA/all time great at Alabama.
I also think its telling as was alluded to that while the coaches would throw him a pass, when we needed to convert a 4th and 2 we werent just lining up and running behind him to convert it.

Proctor missing every spring didn’t help with his weight issues

I DO understand the need to keep Kapilovic until the portal closed.
Fully admitting I didnt play OL, I have no idea even after watching a bunch of experts online break down the OL what we were trying to do schematically in the run game last year.
We obviously werent just getting downhill and mauling people.
What I did see was hesitation, slow feet and confusion that resulted in us never pushing the LOS even against bad competition which is inexcusable.
We talk about strength but from what ive heard Roberts was one of the strongest players to ever come through Tuscaloosa based on some measures and he couldnt stay on the field or make an impact when he got there so what are we supposed to take away from that?
Bottom line for me outside of being very confident we were way too slow to run whatever was being called and that at times guys werent communicating or understanding their protection responsibilities, whatever we were coaching and calling was a flaming dumpster fire in terms of outcomes up front all season.

And the coaches never corrected it. It seems their answer was to insert a different body into a different spot with the same end results.

He looked like a guy coming off a really bad knee injury that didnt trust his body to make cuts or plant and get up field.
I wish him well but there really wasnt anything from him that made me think he could build on to become a quality starter tier guy unless there was some injury I didnt hear about.
Dear looked explosive early but extremely timid in the SECCG.
Hill had some flashes late and has the HS tape and size to be a BRob type guy later on. Would love to see him get a little more violent as far as using his size to carry piles but hes still young.
Riley could be a quality 3rd down guy and looked good early this season. Not sold on him being a feature guy but he flashed at times.

Brooks has been dissected pretty well.
I haven’t seen much about the Fields IOL kid from Ole Miss. What’s the scoop?

The announcers have to be in a cold sweat looking at some of these names we have on campus right now.

How many times did we just line up and run right behind Proctor. Some of it is on play calling
