No doubt. I remember how many guys would re-up for 8 year contracts in the army because of a signing bonus that was going to be heavily taxed and really wasn’t all that much money in the grand scheme of things. Then they’d be bitching and moaning about how they hated this shite and wanted out.

There for a while you could re-enlist in a hostile fire or imminent danger zone and not get taxed on bonuses.

If you spent one day in one of these zones your entire federal and state taxes had to be refunded to you for that month. Any pay you had was tax free so it made your overall pay for the year decrease which meant you paid less tax at the end of the year as well.

Tricky to line up those re-enlistments for deployments or TDY's though.

Then you know exactly what I’m talking about.

We would always try and leave a deployment in one of those zones if near the end of the month and push off departure until the 1st day of the next month so we could get the whole month tax free. The same when flying between deployments as you only needed one day in a month to get the whole month tax free.

Just like the aircrews that flew into Alaska and the plane had "maintenance issues", but the crew all had their fishing gear with them.

Or the plane magically breaks in Amsterdam or Ramstein.

I transited through Ramstein a few times but didn't see much reason to stay.

Mostly on the rotator to the AOR.

Carroll was starting, so this would be an odd move considering he’s slated to basically take LT next season.

We sure he didn’t just stay with family for a day or two and everyone’s making the assumption he’s gone?….

Could be the case. But I could definitely see someone like Ohio St or Miami money whipping him.

Entering the portal doesn't mean he's gone.

Some have said he was shopping for NIL last year while committed to us. No idea if true.

I sure wish we could get a couple of dominant DT/DE types.

Seems like he would be a good pickup.

Is my monitor going bad or is the AU logo purple and gold?

It looked purple and gold on my phone until I zoomed in. So, maybe you’re old or maybe you need a new monitor.

This was a joke.

I'm not an x's & o's kinda guy so I could be way off here but I don't think Womack's scheme is going to attract alot of big time d lineman or ends. To me the wolf position seems like the featured pass rusher. The bandit position seems like a tweener position between a 3-4 end and an inside guy. But again, I don't know jack shite.

Be great since this is professional football now if there were contracts and such. Trade guys for other guys. Draft picks. This isn’t student athletes and the longer the clown car continues pretending this is 2010 football it’s going to be a shite show. College football needs massive overhaul.

Joseph Ionata headed to the portal.

Maybe that means Brailsford is coming back?

No insider info but I'd suspect Brailsford, Horton, and Hubbard come back
