Our QB Room Is a Disaster

This is the ugly truth of it all.

Our QB room sucks. We were supposed to have Julian Sayin right now to fix this problem, but he bailed.

Saban spent an entire offseason trying to decide between Milroe, Simpson, and the rest of the bunch, and NONE of them separated. Our QB room was so bad, that Saban thought Buchner might be our best guy at a certain point last season.

We do not have good QBs. period.

Does Milroe suck? Yeah, he kinda does.
Is Ty Simpson better? He's never proven that he can be consistently better, so no.
Do we have anyone else who's ready? No.

Thank God we are bringing in the top QB of 2025, because we might be depending on Keelon Russel next year the same way Nebraska and TN are depending on true freshman QBs this year.

Julian Sayin was never going to start day one. For every Tua we've had Sims and Barnett as well

We also have seen what? A dozen snaps of Ty this season and none of anyone else?

We don't know what our QB room is behind Milroe right now because Saban never let the backups sling it much and we've had one actual cupcake game go the way of backups getting snaps to begin with

No, but he was supposed to be an elite talent who would shore up this position for us, and maybe take the reigns next season.

I think either Keelon or Austin Mack will start next season.

Interesting how people are trashing Milroe all over the board.

I'm stating the obvious: If Milroe is our best QB, our QB room is in bad shape.

1+1=2

You thought that Sayin was going to come in as a freshman and start?

We'll be fine. Our problems tonight were very bad oline play and 3 turnovers in the 3rd quarter. Very fixable problems. You saw what happened when we put Pritchett in. USF is for some reason a pain in the arse for us to play. We still beat them by 20 something points tonight. Better than last year.

We have the dudes, just gotta clean up the mistakes. I know that seems like groundhog day, but it's the truth. We overcame them well enough last year to come within an OT of playing for the NC, we can clean it up this year too.

Keelon isn't starting next year. It's probably going to be Ty if Milroe goes pro

Dylan/Mack/Keelon probably fight for the job in 2026 depending on what happens with Ty (transfer, draft, passed up).

Not sure what you can really tell about the situation with the bad OL play. Until it’s healthy and the starting unit together, there are too many unknowns.

No, Auburn’s QB room is a disaster.

Milroe didn’t have a great game but he wasn’t the whole issue. He had a few really bad plays but some solid ones too. If this is the worst we get out of him we will be ok. Ty Simpson is a better backup than probably all but 2-3 SEC teams have, if that many.

Jalen Milroe has a tendency to make our line look bad.

The bad snaps were always Milroe's fault. I think that's obvious now, and we owe Seth McLaughlin an apology.

He also hangs onto the ball, and backpedals instead of stepping up in the pocket.

Our Oline was not terrible last year as the statistics would suggest. It's Milroe.

Alabama isn't as good as the Western Kentucky game made them look, Alabama isn't has bad as the South Florida game made them look.

This has been going on since 07. Alabama looks like world beaters in game 1, Alabama shits the bed in game 2. It's clockwork.

Point is, never play a decent team in game 2 or Bama will probably get beat like last year.

We're stuck with Milroe this season. He has his moments, but he's limited. He's the same QB he was last season. Maybe he's the best we currently have. That's up to the guy making $10 million. I think replacing a returning starting QB was a risk to team cohesiveness that DeBoer didn't want to risk in year 1.

If the OL issues get resolved, we can be a cfp team, but right this second, it's looking like we could be underdogs against multiple teams this season. Definitely something we aren't used to.

Totally agree with this. However, Milroe is NOT a good QB, and I really don't think we have anyone better right now.

Alright then. Good talk. If you’re intent on blaming Milroe for everything after watching tonight’s game I’m not sure you know what the hell you are talking about.

Haha I've never been banned from this board before. You people are insane when someone says something you disagree with.

Most of my posts on this board have more likes than dislikes. I make one post that stirs the pot, and people start freaking the frick out lol
