Checking in with you guys...
The Rep field will be pretty big I agree
I think the problem with opening back up all the way is trusting some people in Jeff Co to stay social distancing.

The big metros are all concerns. Thing is, you don't have to do the same thing everywhere. JeffCo in particular has the authority to enact their own directives.
You could very easily open up parts of the state with the 50% capacity rule and still keep tighter rules on areas of special concern. Every door that gets reopened keeps someone off unemployment.

The problem is some jackasses will think that means everything goes back to the way it was before, so they become the vectors. I get it, we have to open back up and I'm all for that, but I don't want some self absorbed idiot putting my family at risk just because he's an idiot.

Just drove through a neighborhood in Shelby Co and people there were having a block party. Probably 50-60 people hanging out in a cul-de-sac.

Another study, this one by USC showing the "official" reporting numbers are grossly underestimating how many people have been exposed to this disease. This study found 4.1% of the population had antibodies to it, which is up to 55 times the number of people that they are reporting.

I was reading where there are people with a class action lawsuit against Live Nation and Ticketmaster because they changed their refund policy. It was before this virus as stated.
What is worse they just announced their big refund policy to give money back but the issue is that none of the concerts are being cancelled just postponed. Some already have future dates for later in the summer or fall.
The thing I found the most interesting though was the CEO for Live Nation said he does not expect these concerts to start back until fall of 2021.
I have a feeling the only way we see football in the fall is on TV.

“if your event is postponed, rescheduled or canceled.” The court documents show that the new post-COVID-19 policy says that refunds will only be given if events are canceled outright.

That would be fantastic news.

No, you will see it in the stadiums. The cold, hard truth is the cost to programs and the places where games are held will be too great not to hold them. MLB and NBA impact 30 or so cities - most of them the same ones for both sports.
Football at all levels impacts hundreds of them. You don’t play it this fall and many of them will never play it and a lot of other sports again. They may do things like temp checks and assigned seats with identity verification to enable contact tracing but they will play.

Ticketmaster definitely already spent that money and realized that issuing refunds would make them insolvent. I really hope this forces them out of business. Ticketmaster is awful and deserves to go bankrupt.

Yep. Can’t refund what you don’t have.

Read another article where ADs were asked about the upcoming season. Seems worse case is moving it to the spring. Most seem to think fall with either a later start or no attendance in the beginning.

This year is just weird. Actual spring football
Posted on 4/21/20 at 12:31 am to 1BamaRTR
I don’t see Spring Football happening. Just way too many logistical problems come out of that. Not saying the Fall is optimum, but it could still work if changed up.
There is just way too much money on the line for colleges, networks, and college towns for there to not be any football this fall. Would be absolutely devastating to a lot of organizations that are already getting hit hard.
