Apparently Saban does this with a lot of players coming back from injury, as a way to ease them back into contact. I would imagine Dee will be back at RB (or SWR) soon.

Javi was a fine DB.

Dee looks closer to just under 5'8" to me, but it's hard to tell on TV. I recall seeing him standing next to a 5'9" Richardson and looking shorter. Either way he won't stay at DB. If he moves anywhere slot is probably the place it'd be.

I would say that it could be translated to "I feel more comfortable with the people around me now", but I really think he may have gotten faster, which should scare every DB in the country shitless.

Yeah that picture of Bateman says a lot. He needs to bring that arm down a bit.

I'm no TideSaint, but that's where you want a qb to release the ball. High release.

Bama will be in deep poo if Ryan Kelly doesn’t pan out or if he gets injured...Issac Luatua is not ready starting to think he was signed to help with recruiting his kid brother...Anthony Steen won’t cut it at center thats a hard transition for a player to make that has never played center, center is probably the toughest position to play on the oline...but I think Kelly will be a stud just hope nothing happens to him.

Not that high though. It shouldn't be that far above your head. Cooper has the arm talent like we've all known, it's just little things like that that he has to improve on to reach his full potential.

When we offered Isaac, Tyler was in the 8th grade. I doubt we offered Isaac to get Tyler

UA kicker Adam Griffith will compete with veteran Cade Foster for the kicking job this spring after the graduation of Jeremy Shelley, who shared time with Foster last season. "He's certainly showed that he has that potential and there certainly is an opportunity that is created by Jeremy leaving," Saban said of Griffith. "... those guys will have a very good competition."

After nine years of baseball, including 20 games with the 2010 Kansas City Royals and seven games with the 2011 Oakland Athletics, Miller has returned to his homestate to play for the Crimson Tide football team.

“I think anytime you’re off for awhile, it takes a little bit of time to transition back into it,” Saban said. “But I’ve been encouraged by his athleticism and his size. He’s a bright guy. He does learn. I saw him make a tremendous amount of improvement on the field today.

“Everything it new to him, every technique is new to him. I’m sure things are running a little bit together for him on the first day but I’m encouraged by how he might be able to help us.”

In its first practice, Alabama welcomed in three new assisstant coaches for their first showing with the Crimson Tide: offensive line coach Mario Cristobal, wide receivers coach Billy Napier and defensive backs coach Greg Brown

quote:

“All those coaches were out there coaching and teaching every play,” Saban said. “I’m encouraged by the energy and enthusiasm they’re bringing, and the new ideas they’re bringing. It’s all been positive from my standpoint.”

quote:

“Until we got into the offseason program and sort of got a handle on things, we did not respond as well as we’d like with this group,” Saban said. “I think we had more guys miss class, more issues, the first behavioral issues we’ve had with the guys who got in trouble that we’ve had in five and a half years. A lot of little loose-ended things.

“When guys have entitlement, you see a little slippage. Once we got into the offseason program where we were seeing the players just about four out of five days, and the coaches were around them more, I think we got them recentered and refocused and we’ve improved in all those areas.”

Senior linebacker C.J. Mosley affirmed the meeting was successful.

“As a team, we all had a meeting and basically told everybody that’s not the way we do things,” Mosley said. “It’s good that we’re back in football because we don’t have all of that off time we’ve been having. We just have to focus on football and going to school. That’s when the family and leadership part of things start to set in.”

Saban said the transition from offseason workouts to spring practices helped greatly.

“I think they’ve made a tremendous amount of improvement,” Saban said. “We’ve had the best academic week that we’ve had all semester, and guys are making progress. We really had a good offseason program and the attitude was good today at practice. We are making progress.”

Mosley is being withheld from contact to begin spring drills after having his right shoulder scoped. "It's just a clean-up. I played through it the whole season so it got banged up," he said. Mosley said he hopes to be able to practicing with full contact by the end of the spring. ... Other players being withheld from contact at the beginning of spring include receiver DeAndrew White and running back Jalston Fowler, both of whom are still recovering from knee injuries

Single frames don't do throwing motions favors, majority of them don't look like that.

McCarron, Morris, and Bateman were probably the most consistent out there, the rest throwing some high/low balls.

Yeah it's probably just bad place bad time with the picture for Cooper, but in the video on al.com he did throw two bad ones that looked like low releases, no matter what though we know Morris and Bateman have the most potential outside of AJ, so it's just a matter of getting used to throwing again if they haven't for a while (they should've been throwing though, I'm sure they were) and letting Nuss help em out. Not many Freshman come into college with great mechanics.

The offensive center position is in good hands with two experienced players competing for the position - Ryan Kelly and Chad Lindsay. Both played close to 200 plays last fall. Issac Luatua has never snapped the ball at Bama, but many people continue to post him at center.

Fanning was working on outside technique. Getting vertical. He looked like he had lived in the weightroom for the past two months.

Most impressive thing I saw though was when the running backs were working on running low then hitting a block. Fowler came out of the gate and hit the sled and flipped it over backwards. Just launched it.

Ryan Kelly will be fine. Lineman all have confidence in him.

TideSports are calling the 2 gone as well.

Dickson was back at OLB, Bradley Sylve and Deion Belue were working the edges today for the 1st team, and Jarrick Williams isn't showing signs of hesitation with his knee and is in great shape.
