Yep, puts us at 84 schollys by my count. Wonder if Mandell will get a scholarship. That makes 2 years in a row we've started camp under the limit. Something to remember when inevitably people will freak out next NSD about how the numbers will work out.

My pants looked just like Volger's the night of the BCS championship game.

With the additions of Fowler (H-back), OJ, and Fanning (if he sticks), we find ourselves with a lot more talent at the position but unfortunately none of those guys have much college experience at the position.

Vogler should be solid. I was really surprised he didn't catch more passes last years as that was supposed to be his strength. He's developed into a good blocker but I do worry that we'll miss BMW in the run game. He was like an additional OL at TE.

@CecilHurt: Ala. RB Jalston "Nudie" Fowler on his nickname: "It's from my dad. Now, I have a son. My dad calls him Nudie Two. We're Nudie and Twodee."

Wow some of those kids are already scary big to be freshman. Cochran is probably foaming at the mouth somewhere.

Seriously, it's so damn physically impressive.

Jon Allen is a freak of nature.

A'Shawn will frick people up.

Reuben looks more like a Junior linebacker than a Freshman.

OJ Howard's body is impressive.

Obviously Jai Miller is 28 years old, but damn he's big.

Brandon Hill looks like DJ Fluker ate Andre Smith.

And then when you look at the veterans it's just insane. Belue has put on a little bit of weight. LC26 is every bit of that 6'0" 215. Ragland's 260lbs of awesome. HaHa looks a little bigger too.

I don't know how to link the video, but on al.com on the right side of the page on an article there was a video of DePriest being interviewed today. He said he lost about 10 pounds. I'm going to venture to say he was around 250 last year, so he's down to 240ish and said he feels quicker.

I've been waiting for TD to break out and be the beast we expected him to be. Maybe this is the year.

I think it will be. He's already pretty good coverage wise, and has shown flashes as the next in line in what is becoming a long line of Bama's great ILBs under Saban. He looked sort of tentative after the Michigan game last year. In the Michigan game though, he came out and had 7 tackles in the first half and looked like a force, but then he got hurt and missed the second half. I think he and Mosley will be quite the duo on the inside for us.

I think it happens this yr if the weight stays off he got a little heavy and it was obvious in pass coverage

Anyone want to take a stab at whether the Grant Hill experiment at left tackle is legit? I know everyone is pumped about him, and worried about depth at OT.

-- For what it's worth, running backs are going through a drill in this order: T.J. Yeldon, Kenyan Drake, Dee Hart, Derrick Henry, Alvin Kamara, Altee Tenpenny and Tyren Jones. There's a lot of interest in the four freshmen -- Henry, Kamara, Tenpenny and Jones -- but don't overlook Hart this season.

-- You can't tell that senior cornerback John Fulton missed spring practice with a turf toe problem.

-- Starting QB AJ McCarron and backup Alec Morris are firing bullets at receivers running short routes.

-- Tight end LaMichael Fanning, a converted defensive end, is catching on. That is, he isn't dropping passes.

-- Offense now lining up against the defense. Here's where it gets fun.

-- McCarron throws TD passes on three consecutive throws, as Amari Cooper beats John Fulton, DeAndrew White beats Deion Belue and Raheem Falkins beats Fulton.

And Nick Saban's head explodes.
