11 players on the two deep, that quite high. Four starters and seven players that might have been starters this coming year.

And in particular, the secondary was hit hard by NFL draft, eligibility expiration, and the portal. Alabama has 1 of 5 starters returning in nickel defense from 2023. We lost a shoo-in starter at corner to Ole Miss and the best player on our roster at strong safety in Caleb Downs to Ohio State. Two competitors at corner - Ricks and Little - went to TAMU and FSU respectively.

We just signed three 5-star DBs - Mbakwe, Brown and Mincy - who were Nos. 2, 3 and 4 in the country at their positions. All are graded at 98, same as Sayin was at QB. All three are early enrollees as well.

This and we also added Domani Jackson. Might add Mohammad who would be a day one starter. Plus we have the spring portal window to address any further issues on the roster. People act like this is 2003 all over again. Insane.

Courtney Morgan was on the Michigan staff in 2021 and played football there, so it'll be interesting to see if he has relationships with any defensive guys who might be looking to leave if Harbaugh and Minter head to the NFL.

Morgan helped construct their roster that just won the national championship. I’m excited to see what they can do. They’re already plugging holes in the roster.

Still somewhere between 79-81 with everything trending positively for all of our targets (except for RW, cause oh no he is going to Auburn or something) and QB Reese's scholly is being honored.

I think We will start seeing a lot more freshman playing on defense post Saban.
Less complex scheme should get a lot of younger guys on the field.

Caleb Downs was a true freshman in Saban’s defense and balled out. Not saying we have another Downs coming in but it’s possible.
