Would much rather keep Grant than hire Oliver Purnell. Hiring Purnell would be making a change just to make a change. No thanks.

Two years ago we laid waste to a quality Villanova in NYC. Never looked that good again all year or since.

Take it for what it's worth but I work with a guy who was golfing with Bruce the other day for work. They got talking about basketball and Bruce was not pleased about how the administration handled the whole recruiting thing and thought the university would back him. Bruce told him he will likely end up as Bama head coach next season. Can you imagine the meltdown if Bruce Pearl ends up at bama and we are stuck with...Zo?

I just don't believe Bama will hire a coach after getting a show-cause.
Even if Bama did hire him, not sure how it could be done for next season. Show-cause is finished in late August.

The show cause doesnt mean we cant hire him. Just that we would have to work with the NCAA to do it.
He has said he thinks he will be coaching next year and has said that his assistants would have to handle recruiting until august.

Yes, he could have been hired at anytime by anyone. The risk can be huge, any mistake by Pearl and the NCAA will likely crush the program.
