McMillon seems like a good choice. I also thought Anfernee Jennings could end up at DE... Has that Upshaw type of body. Lastly, Terrell Hall. He's already a monster, just keep feeding him!

I think you might throw Mekhi Brown in there potentially...

According to your theory Hurts should start game 2, correct?

Possibly! I was disappointed with how he ended his high school career... But watching the practice videos, his feet are really quick. Shocked the hell out of me. Seems log jammed behind the studs at that position though, so protein shakes and beef until he gets up to 275bs!

I have (somewhat quietly) been team Bateman for some time. However, the one issue no one is really mentioning is that even if he has a great year this year he will most likely take his Mormon mission next year. We will be left trying to start our fourth first year QB in four years. Admittedly, not ideal.

Man your comprehension skills must be horrible or you're flat out ignoring what I am saying.

- Saban is seniority first.

- Saban starts every first game of the year (if no returning starter) with the upperclassmen who shares time with other QB in open competition.

- Apparently regardless of performance true freshman are auto-benched not being allowed to participate in open competition.

- Depending on performance from these games and practices after this first match, Saban makes decisions on who starts after first game. Could be either option.

What is so hard to understand about that?

You're asking me if I'm drunk because I said Saban isn't always right and it's not a sin to question his choices?

Really?

Wow. Just wow.

if you have any spare time could you make me a sig and an avi. If you don't have time or just don't want to, I completely understand.

I'll make a thread soon to take some requests for sigs and avis so people who need one can get one. It may be next week though after we beat the hell outta USC before I can do that. My Wifi situation is meh right now but will be resolved after this weekend.

I will attempt to make something for anyone who requests one, but I can't make a promise that I'll be able to make one for sure. BUt I'll look at your request and see what I can do

Pretty sure he is in the middle of getting his shot. Dude is still in the NFL

I know what you mean, though.

You'll have to forgive me; your QB competition theory has a lot of components:

1. Performance doesn't matter until during/after game 1 then it matters unless you're a freshman
2. Seniority is the only thing that matters before game one but doesn't matter during/after game one unless you're a freshman in which case it continues to matter
3. Freshmen are not allowed to participate in open competition despite all the reports (that you appeared to put a lot of stock in) detailing Hurts' participation in the QB competition. So maybe that was just for appearances or maybe the freshman ban on competition participation doesn't go into effect until the first game week

I feel like i have a handle on it now.

Looks like USC lost a really important backup LB.

They are legitimately freaking out about stopping the run without this guy. Apparently he was REALLY important.

Aren't they replacing most of their front on defense? That's why I'm not too concerned on how the O-Line shapes up.

I'm honestly more excited about Harris than Bo. Bo's size is hype worthy, but Harris looked much quicker and had much more burst it seemed at A-Day than Bo. He's actually one of the guys I have that will improve the most from season one to season two. Not discrediting Bo though; he'll be awesome if healthy.

Pretty excited too that we might see more 2-TE sets with an H-Back also. Especially with a guy like Forristall at H-Back who can be reliable on checkdowns.

That's the problem with this country in general Boz. People love to celebrate when others look bad. Personally I thank you for the info and hope you ignore the miserable badtards and keep sharing.

Again, you don't know how well each QB performed to the extent that the coaches know. You are acting like you do, but you don't. I don't either. But you are basing your whole argument on this pseudo-knowledge that you are spouting.

Why is that so hard to understand.

Can I inject a little civility into this thread?

Our coach is being mentioned as perhaps the best of ALL TIME. Better than Bear, Paterno, Bowden, Stagg, and all of the others before him. He's gotten to this point by making pressure laden decisions that most of us couldn't fathom because God only knows how most of the Bama nation shits the floor in front of God and everybody when he gets one wrong.

We're entering nearly unprecedented dynasty discussions because of the talent he's brought in and the decisions he's made with that talent. It's incredibly naive and presumptuous for us armchair idiots to throw a hissy fit like some of us are doing because of who he may or may not play at quarterback.

We have very possibly the best wide receiver corp we've ever had and the most dynamic TE in the last 30 years. They could make my barely functional fat arse look like ALL SEC.

Oh, and throw in 5 5*'s and 4*'s that'll be protecting whoever the QB is.

The two running backs? BOTH are 5*'s.

The punter? Arguably the best in the nation so he'll get us out of most of the 3 and outs all you guys are predicting will come in droves.

Plus, these assumptions are being made with the two projected top QB's having faced THE BEST DEFENSE IN THE NATION in their two scrimmages. That part is kind of important because 90% of the starting QB's in college football would have looked like intramural scrubs under the same circumstances.

Calm down, we got this. Ice down the beer, marinate the wings and wait on the road to the natty to run through Tuscaloosa once AGAIN. Every other team in the country would kill to be where we are and where we're going. It's all good baws.

PS.

Don't forget to set up the other TV in the den so we can watch the buzzards get skull fricked on live TV by Climpson.

Looks like USC will be without their starting left tackle due to injury. His back up is a true sophomore.
