I think Wommack would make a lot of sense. Familiar with DeBoer, a head coach for a few years in this state who has existing relationships with high school coaches. Seems like a decent move imo.

I think someone on BOL posted a list, but all speculation. Don’t think there is a confirmed list or anything

People better go read up on Kane Wommack...buddy has more DC experience than I previously thought. He also turned defenses into ball hawks everywhere he's been.

It comes across as an attempt to ridicule and undermine him.

Can anyone edit the video to show Milroe catching the pass too?

There's an edited version floating around Twitter with Jermaine Burton catching it.

ETA-Nevermind. I see it was already posted.

On3 reporting a team meeting has been called tonight at 6:30. Nothing definitive about the content.

“Anticipation is to connect with the team again, discuss their plans for the future and possible new coaching hires.”

Idk, not a member at BOL, but I think maybe it was posted a further back in this thread. I’ll try to look back and see. Think it was Charlie Potter or someone

If we have struck out at DC options why was everyone repulsed at the notion that CNS possibly do it for a year, and see whos available next year ? Is it considered beneath him ? How do anyone know he wouldnt enjoy it ?

In the Rece Davis interview when he talks about the job being grueling this past season, he specifically mentions coaching the defense as the most grueling aspect.

Because the man retired. Him agreeing to be DC for a year is never going to happen. It’s a silly thing to discuss.

That was in the context of "on top of all his other responsibilities."

He retired for a reason. dumbest comment in a long time on this forum. there are hundreds of DC people in the P 5 conferences. Most good ones will get 1.2-1.5 M minimum to coach at Bama.

Dude are you mentally there? Seriously?

Is it beneath the greatest coach of all time to retire then take on the DC role at the school he just left? Yes. 100% yes.

He retired because he doesn’t want to coach anymore. This should give you a clue as to why he’d want to be done.

Honestly me responding to this ridiculous comment and taking the time to explain it to you is a waste of my time but here we are…

Jfc. This man suggests Saban be the DC for a season and sees nothing wrong with it. It’s hard to believe ppl like you exist. Try to be realistic.

Saban is done as a coach. He's some sort of nebulous admin/advisor now who doesn't even have an office in the same building as the rest of the coaches or players. More than likely he will not be around much other after a season or two max...maybe even quicker. Nick and Terry have to move out of their house in Tuscaloosa because it is owned by CTF and its is for the head football coach. He may find some other place to stay temporarily but he didn't buy that mansion on a beach island to live in a condo in Tuscaloosa.

Seems unlikely, huh? He's obviously tired. On the off chance such a bizarre thing happened, then people would spin it as meddling. Or the topic of his age would be brought up to defensive recruits.
