I am sure who Ricky Green is but this is his take

There may be serious mutual interest between Iowa DC Phil Parker and Alabama. Also have heard enough to think that Grubb will be our new OC and may bring WR Coach JaMarcus Shephard with him to be Holmon Wiggins replacement…

He might be cook at the Oasis in Cottondale for all I know.

Grubb they say is not a good recruiter but Shepard is. Grubb is a a very good OC.

I would love a new OL coach with our talent at that position there is no excuse for them to drag arse like they did most of the year. They stepped up in some games but damn.

I’d rather my OC be good than bad at his actual job l

I'm not worried about the offense. We just improved there by leaps and bounds when we hired Deboer. I'm interested to see if he can put together a solid defensive staff. It doesn't have to be elite, but it needs to be good.

It's going to be weird going from Saban to a HC whose background is on the other side of the ball.

Love Grubb and Sheppard as OC and WR coach but Phil Parker as DC? Don’t like that at all.

4-2-5 guy, so sounds like DeBoer switching us from 3-4.

I would except more transfers for what's worth.

FYI DeBoer co-dcs were a 4-2-5 base as well

Realistically, 4-2-5 is going to be your base defense against all but a few teams...but those teams are the exact ones you're going to see in the rarified air.

No one can argue with that but DeBoer’s main challenge in the SEC will be recruiting. You have to recruit at the top level here or slide into mediocrity. Nobody can recruit like Saban but DeBoer should have at least 3-4 top notch recruiters who are familiar with cutthroat SEC recruiting.
Wish he would bring Tosh in.

Yeah I know we basically ran out of nickel against everyone not named Michigan and Georgia.

But typically you get smaller at DE so we have some not great fits

I think we've got the talent to play 4-2-5 base but it will probably be more like a 2-4-5 next year.

I've literally never said this about another poster.

But you need a timeout, for your own state of mind.

If so, tell em to get a Bear burger combo with home fries ready for me. I'll be there in 20.

Daddy worked at BF Goodrich from 54-63. We used to stop there often. They had a pinball machine that was neat. They cooked a good hamburger back then. That was well before they added on.

I thought we played solid defense this year. At times slipped up. Some adjustments on scheme and alignment may not be bad. We will have both ILB back, quite a few DL, a few secondary guys who played enough. Really the OLB spot is what I’m interested in.

Parker but you would need Freddie to stick along with Bala for recruiting. Keep our RB coach as well for recruiting.

Defense was great for most of the year. The only thing I hated was seeing dudes not being covered out of the backfield and off the line. That killed us on so many plays.
