Yea, I believe that got really ugly behind the scenes. I know rumors have come out, but I think it must have been even worse than they hinted at

They weren't the best of friends after Sal left LSU after 1 year anyway, can't imagine that bridge can keep getting rebuilt.

Though, Lance Thompson keeps finding his way back after getting booted

Freddie Roach turned the job down

Tosh wants to coach DL and hire a LB coach.

Eric Henderson is the leader to be DL, if Bama hires a DL coach.

The players favorite new coach is Pete Golding.

It seems to me Roach is overpaid at Ole Miss. Idk if Bama actually offered to hire him. I've seen the other three things tho, from a connected source. If a LB coach hire, Glenn Schuman is a good fit.

RebelGrove.com - Updated contract details for Ole Miss football assistants
quote:

Ole Miss' two new assistant football coaches have their financial terms in place and some other assistants have increased salaries, according to contract details released to RebelGrove.com on Friday...

The biggest assistant salary jump is defensive line coach Freddie Roach, who has had interest from multiple teams, including Alabama, this offseason. Roach has a three-year contract with a 2018 salary of $500,000. He made $375,000 in 2017...

That's Kugligowski level money -- a proven veteran DL coach.

I think Sal and Thompson burned some bridges that can’t be repaired anymore.

The same way you don't know if he was even offered.

LB coach (i.e. Lance Thompson

Don't want anywhere near our campus again!!!! I honestly believe that POS burned that bridge for the last time.

Sal Sunseri isn't coming back either. Sunseri thought Vinnie got exposed too much in the nickel set and it cost him $$$ in the draft. Doubt they kiss and made up!

Is that why Vinnie left early?

That doesn't even make sense.

Sorry, guess I'll have to elucidate.

You're basing your point on a random post with zero factual backing, which levels it as the same merit as my post.

There is no proof either way, making what I said just as factual as anything else on the subject of Roach's job offers.

Better?

Jim Leonhard of Wisconsin was offered the DC position and turned Bama down.

I believe that was the story. Sal thought Vinnie should have been a "base" safety only and that he shouldn't have been in the star or money position because he got exposed. Of course Saban overruled him because Vinnie was a pretty damn smart kid and learned the position. When he went down with the knee injury, that pretty much sealed the deal and led to Vinnie declaring early.
