Lots of good games there for sure. Will be fun to watch if nothing else.

I hate it to be honest.
We are playing five "East" teams, two "West" teams and Oklahoma.
I would rather play Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Arkansas than South Carolina, Missouri and Vanderbilt.
Yeah, that schedule would be much tougher, but at least it would be our traditional opponents.

Don’t care about dropping Ole Miss. But Mississippi State is Alabama’s longest running and most played series. That one sucks to lose. But something was going to have to give.

Not a single game between two neighboring states in Alabama and Mississippi.

I feel like we’ve been consistently screwed ever since Sankey got his feet wet as commissioner. Oh well, the regular season won’t be as vital under the new format.
I still hope the league goes to nine and rips off the B1G’s recently announced format.

I'm still pissed over the 8.
What is the B1G format?

It really isn't.
Still wish we kept our traditional matchups though.

5 rotating + 3 you play both years
Except instead of forcing 3 protected rivals. They allowed for some of the 3 teams you play both years to rotate in the next cycle.
I believe they had every school select 3 rivals. If the schools picked each other as rivals, it went down as a protected rivalry. If not, then the team has an extra rotating spot.
So Iowa has 3 protected rivals, but Penn State has 0. It works great because certain programs have more rivalries that need protection like Bama, Auburn, and UGA while others like South Carolina or Oklahoma have 1 or none.
I figure we would’ve gone Auburn, UT, and Miss State, but Miss State would have avoided us so we’d have AU and UT protected and 7 rotating games.

It isn’t unmanageable, but it’s hard to overlook Bama and UGA getting 4 big 6 opponents to LSU and Auburn’s 2.
Don’t try to sell me on Texas A&M being some kind of power. They’re Arkansas 2.0 now that they can’t sell themselves as the SEC’s Texas school.
If you consider UGA our biggest threat though, our schedule is getting more level with their schedule due to the elimination of divisions.

One of those is ooc. We don't give a shite.
The other is an annual neutral site that most of y'all wanted... So stop bitching.

who's bitching? I simply wondered why it was set up that way. The WLOCP should stay in jacksonville forever btw so I'm certainly not complaining about that. my question was more so along the lines of...we have a dreadfully, hilariously bad home schedule this year so it's a bit head scratching that our 2 big marquee SEC games in 24 would both be on the road.

Why did Georgia get out of the Oklahoma game? Is it because it would have been a home/away in 23/24? They could have just counted it as a SEC game and picked up another non-conference game in 24. I'm sure it has been talked about before but I'm just curious.
I know in 24 the SEC didn't want teams to play a team they did the year before like Bama playing Texas again.

Our ou series was originally scheduled for 2023 and 2031. Don't ask me why the gap because I have no clue. It doesn't make any logical sense that we'd play game 1 of the series in 2023 as noncon opponents when they'll be in the league in 2031.
This definitely was not the same situation as bama/Texas, which will be resolved prior to them entering the league.

It could have been on OUs end
