Touki has been spectacular since his call up. Hate to see todays outing wasted.
Braves out score Phillies 24-12 in the series only to go 2-2.

Baseball's a challenging, crazy sport to bet on, however, if you do, when the Braves win, bet against them following day.
You'll profit nicely this season.

Just a .500 team.

This club has 80-82 written all over it

At least now it's obvious for management to see its time to get ready for next season. Unload anything of value that's not coming back, and bring some kids up to get some experience.

There was a lot wrong with this team, but the bottom line was nobody could overcome all those injuries... and arrests unfortunately.

Next season still looks very promising assuming management doesn't shite the bed.

Our pitching, even the bullpen, has been pretty reliable since the break. The lineup though. Woof. You just can't have the 6-8 spots in your everyday lineup be Smith/Vogt and some combination of Almonte, Heredia, Adrianza, and Arcia. Having just one of those guys in your every day lineup is bad enough. Having 3 of them isn't sustainable. Riley turning into a beast this season is all that is keeping the offense afloat at this point.

If Ozuna wasn’t a fricking idiot and Acuna and D’Arnaud were healthy I would feel pretty confident about making a run these last 2 months and winning the division.

This team is a .500 ball club tho as is.

Those issues are why I give AA a pass on our lineup woes. My gripe with him was his neglect of the bullpen over the offseason.

If we can grab a bat to lengthen our lineup when Travis gets back I think we can win the division. A legit bat. Not one of these little band-aid moves for a fringe starter on an expiring contract.

So in other words something that isn't going to actually happen.

You'll get Robby Grossman and like it.

I don't even have my sights set that high to be honest. My expectation is that we do nothing and when he's pressed on it AA will give some weak "the value wasn't there for us" excuse. Even though we will see other teams make some big moves and not pay a ton to get them done.

The Pirates are apparently making Bryan Reynolds available though, so if we're ever going to move some prospects now is the time to do it. 4 years of team control left so they'll probably want both Waters and Pache, but I'd still do it.

God I can't wait for Monday so I get to hear AA defend his lack of moves with "the value just wasn't there for us" before blowing smoke up everyone's arse with some crap about expecting Ozuna's situation to be resolved soon and a claim that getting Travis and Ynoa off the IL is basically like making a huge trade.

Eddie Rosario and Adam Duvall for Pablo, Jackson, and cash. Two decent players for two guys who add nothing to an MLB roster, so it's not bad in the sense that we're better off for it, but those are like peak Alex Anthopolous moves. He's the kind of person who drives 10 miles out of his way to save 7 cents per gallon on gas.

So he should be back right?

Ozuna, Acuna, and Pederson is a solid OF next season IMo

Just my monthly post ITT to bitch about the front office. Braves do the bare minimum. While the Mets are adding key pieces. Yay.

Coming soon to an Atlanta radio station near you:

"Alex, a lot has been made this season about the bullpen just not being up to snuff. They have blown a lot of games. You didn't add anyone at the trade deadline though. Walk us through your thought process there."

"Well [host] we were very active over the last couple of days. We spent a lot of time on the phones seeing what all was out there, but ultimately the value just wasn't there for us. We trust the guys we have on the roster though and I believe, and Snit believes, they can help us win our division and get back to the playoffs."

2 pretty good trades getting Duvall back (22 HR 68 RBI's) Rosario (7 HR 47 RBI's) 9 stolen bases.
D'arnaud's beginning his rehab. He gets his timing/rhythm back, huge upgrade at the catcher position.
Hopefully, AA makes a couple more moves to strengthen the bullpen.
