Just dropping in to say; if you're looking for a team to kind of throw your support behind for the remainder of the season, can I interest you in the Cincinnati Reds? They will break your hearts with the best of them!

Do you like following teams that haven't had any real success in decades? What about front offices that have repeatedly made the worst decisions? Players that talked too much and then underdelivered? The Reds might be just what you're looking for!

Somehow this year they are managing to win games in the 9th inning, overcome a pretty terrible bullpen, and be pretty fun to watch. Just took 3 of 4 at Milwaukee to cut their division lead to 4 and now turn around to host them for 3 more this weekend. Epic letdown likely incoming!

We just traded for Joc Pederson. Would have been a solid move if Acuna was healthy

I’m a bit stunned. I expected to be sellers.

So Pederson Contract has an option for 2022...so I like the move.

Joc has been awful this year. He has a mutual option for $10M with a $2.5M buyout next year, but I don't see us picking that up. We gave up a 23 year old struggling in A+ ball, so whatever, but this just seems to be a move designed to acquire the cheapest player they could find that a lot of casual fans would recognize. In this case because he has butt fricked us in the playoffs what seems like a dozen times.

I also hope we become sellers.
We've got some quality key pieces, particularly pitchers, who could set us up nicely in the future with diamond like prospects.
Hopefully AA doesn't waste the opportunity.

Matt Wisler has a 0.73 ERA

Our pitching development must suck

What do you know...Bullpen blows a late lead and we fail to get the placed runner home in extras.

Offense is rolling coming out of the break.
82-80
81-81 could possibly win topsy turvy NL East.

If Ozuna wasn’t such a fricking idiot. We would be getting him and Ynoa back soon and d’Arnaud in about a month.

I think it'll take more like 85 wins. Maybe 87. We could do it if we got one more big bat and a back end reliever who isn't complete shite.

Honestly if the price isn't something crazy I think a package deal for Bryant and Kimbrel solves a ton of our problems. Or we can make a big move for someone like Gallo and also try to get Kimbrel. I just realize this isn't a WS roster so if we are aggressive at the deadline it needs to be for guys who have 1-2 years of team control left beyond 2021.

At this point the glaring issue is the bullpen. If the bullpen was league average, even with all the lineup and rotation injures/issues, we'd be 48-43 or 49-42 right now.

I'd really like to see us give Burrows (Bammer boy) a shot and send Minter to the "I'm terrible I hurt my hammie IL". He's not electric but he has consistently thrown up sub 1.25 WHIPs and sub .200 BAA at every step in the minor leagues. He wouldn't be some sort of godsend, but he throws strikes and gets out and is worth giving a shot when the alternate is a guy with a 1.94 WHIP in his last 15 outings. You can't be a relief pitcher and average giving up 2 baserunners an inning. Just ridiculous.

And how much longer do we have to watch Kevan Smith? Alex Jackson is a much better defender and is OPS'ing .910 over his last 15 games in AAA. He will probably strike out 7 of 10 at bats, but he might run into 1 every 5th game and he is a better defender. I just don't get it.

They need to give someone other than Minter an opportunity at this point. He's fricking garbage. I'm not sure how they can justify continuing to give him chances.

Not sure I agree on Jackson though. He's the classic AAAA player. He has never gotten much of an opportunity for consistent ABs at the MLB level but he has 1 career XBH and looks totally overwhelmed by MLB pitching. He has power but his hit tool is awful, so his only chance at carving out an MLB career is being a poor man's Muncy or Gallo, but nothing I have ever seen from him suggests he has the plate discipline to be a 3 true outcomes guy in the majors.
